Tom and you have known each other for a while now and have been good friends. You had an inevitable crush on Tom even before you knew each other in person.

You feel so comfortable when he is around. Those beautiful captivating eyes that bore in to yours when you talk, his silky voice, the innocent giggle, his even more beautiful soul and just everything about him screams attention. With him you could be yourself and never have to pretend to be someone you are not. He likes and appreciates the way you are. And this makes you fall for him harder.

Valentines day is fast approaching and you wished for Tom to ask you out on a date. You had even contemplated asking him out instead before some other lucky chic gets the chance. But then you were scared of how he would react, the possible rejection and losing his friendship forever.

It's a day prior to valentines day and still no signs of Tom and you spending it together. You wake up early and sigh. You just had to come to terms that you were way out of his league and he would never think of you anything more than a friend. Well, you couldn't blame him, he is gorgeous and has a great sense of humor and the girls would die for him. Why would he even notice you when he has so much to choose from. You snap out of your train of thoughts and decide to take a shower and get ready for work.

You pull through work somehow and then decide to go shopping with your girl pals, thinking it would help you take your mind of off Tom. You reach the mall and promptly begin shopping, helping your friends find the perfect dress for tomorrow. You skim through the beautiful dresses on display, feeling the silky fabric beneath your fingers. But they seem too extravagant for your taste. After many long hours you are done shopping and everyone bids goodbye.

Being a weekend tomorrow, you decide to sleep in and spend the valentines day in solitude. You change in to your pajamas and crawl in to bed beneath the warm sheets and snuggle in to a comfortable position when you hear your phone ring. You are so tired but you pick up the call nevertheless.

It's your friend and she called to inform you that she has set a blind date for you tomorrow. You are in no mood for a date unless it is Tom of course. But your friend manages to change your mind and you finally give in.

You wake up the next morning with a sigh. You can't help but feel a little jealous about the girl who gets to spend the Valentines day with Tom. She is going to be one lucky woman.

You remember about the blind date your friend told you yesterday and wonder who it would be. It is a dinner date and that is all you know. You were to be there at 8 pm. You have a lot of free time in hand, so you decide to chill with Netflix and order a pizza.

After a while the doorbell rings and you rush to get the pizza you ordered. But you are surprised when you see a huge bouquet of red roses along with a box of chocolates on your door step. You look around to see who had brought it. But there seems to be no one. You gently pick up the bouquet and chocolates and place it on the table in your living room. You admire the flowers and look for any messages on it. But nothing. You smile nonetheless at such a beautiful gesture and pick up the box of chocolates. You see there is a note on it with a very cheeky message "As sweet as you are :)" and you feel your cheeks turn crimson at the compliment.

You decide to pick a dress for tonight. You walk to your wardrobe and start taking out dress after dress and holding it in front of the mirror.  You finally give up with a groan that you have got nothing good to wear. Story of every woman's life. You feel extremely exhausted after folding and placing all the dresses sprawled on the floor back in to the wardrobe. At this point you have settled on wearing any random dress that is decent enough and  decide to take a nap before you have to leave for the date.

You are deep in sleep when you hear the doorbell ring. You sit up on the bed groggily and rub your eyes and notice that its 6 pm. You get the door and there is no one. Again. If it were any other day you would have freaked out. Damn you should stop watching all those horror movies.
