I Will Set You Free (Short Story)

Chapter 2 :The Bad Luck

My partner took me to the diner where we always go to During cases trying to figure things out. A plate of my usual meal 'Hamburger and fries' was on the table untouched. I was only looking outside the empty street. It was 12 Midnight and no one was at the diner except for Liam and I. Liam only looked at me worriedly.

" Eva , you haven't eaten for days. Please." he begged. But I payed no attention to Liam. I just didn't feel like it , I used to feel hungry all the time but with the absence of my husband , my appetite is gone. All I want to do is solve this case. I looked at the place outside , the empty parking place. the scene of Zayn And I's first meeting keeps on coming back. he's motorcycle  was parked right there in that empty spot.

"it's just unfair you know. We just recently got married. We recently just came back from our honeymoon. I was recently happy with my whole life. and then this happened , my world fell apart." I said placing both my hand on my head and just staring down, tearing.

"There is a way out of this , you and I both know that he's innocent." he said. "I would do the same thing too , if ever this happened to my wife. I will not let anything happen to her." He loves her very much. He's wife Sophia , they are happily married for 2 years now. How I wish I was in he's place , happy and everything. Liam snaps me out of my misery and started focusing on the case.

"Just try to remember something Eva , what happened on the night of your wedding day?" he asked

"do I have to tell you specifically what happened ? It's Private just so you know." I said with a bit of a humor.

" Ew. No. I mean did you notice anything strange or weird that day?" He asked. 

wait , I do remember something

(Flashback) 

This is it , my day. 

I was wearing a strapless wedding dress filled with sparks.I looked at myself in the mirror.

It's the first time I don't feel insecure , I looked perfect. Everything is going to be perfect.

I tried to breathe in and out wanting to forget the negative thoughts in my mind, but I can't get it out. 

all i can think of is Zayn leaving me cause of fear of being with me forever.

"I am going there." I said positively and I am not taking it back.

"Eva , I'm telling you it's bad luck!" my best friend Demi said trying to stop me from going to Zayn's room 

She was my made of honor. She was trying to fix my dress. 

"I just want to make sure. that he's not having second thoughts about all this." I sighed

I feel out of breath. I'm nervous as hell. I'm sure about all this but I feel like Zayn wants to jump out of the window to escape from this thing called 'forever and ever til death do us apart' thing. I just want to check on him.

I went outside and heard Demi shout

"EVA I'M SERIOUS COME BACK HERE!"

I didn't listen to Demi .. I just walked forward and fast directly to his door. His door was slightly opened I can see something . I can see him. He's on the phone.Which made me suspicious. My heart was beating so fast.

"Just leave me alone Okay? Whatever happened between us 5 years ago is over . You can't just bring the past back to life. cause it's dead okay." I heard him sigh.who is he talking to? seriously now? on the day of our wedding day?.
