KATHY
"Knock, Knock"
I peek at the hole in our door and saw a boy in my age.
"Uh may I help you?" As I opened the door.
"uhhhh...Is this the house of Ms.Montogomery?
"Yes. She's my mother. Why?
"My mother wanted to hand over these contracts and papers to your mom because we just moved in."
"Oh, Ok. I'll just give it to her. What's your name?"
"I'm Khalil. Khalil Moore."
"Nice to meet you Khalil, I'm Kathy."
"Nice to meet you too. Uh, I think I should be going."
"Wait, since your new in the neighborhood, please come at the playground. Near this street. You see that?" As I pointed the near playground.
"Yeah."
"I'll Introduce you to my friends. I'll wait for you there Khalil."
"Okay. Thanks by the way." Then returned me a smile.
"Bye!"
"Uh, wait Kathy! In what time shall I go there?"
"By 4:00 in the afternoon."
"Thanks!"
As I close the door, I ran upstairs to hand mom the contracts and papers. By the way, My mom is one of the members/officers in the Homeowners' assiociation. In case your wondering why Khalil should give the papers to my mom.
"Kathy, who gave you these papers?"
"It's from the family who just moved here."
"Who exactly?"
"Khalil Moore. One of the new neighbors. He's the same age as mine. I think."
"Oh, Thank you Kathy."
"You're welcome Mom."
I Looked at the clock and saw its 2:00 in the afternoon. Maybe I'll just take a nap before going to the palyground.
KHALIL
"Mom, I found a friend from Ms. Montogomery's house."
"That"s good news! What's his/her name?"
"Kathy. She invited me to go to the playground because she'll introduce me to her friends."
"Did you say yes? And how old is her?"
"Of course mom, I accepted the Invitation. I think she's the same age as mine. Mom, Will you let me go at the playground this afternoon?"
"Yes. But first, Help me in unpacking these packages and call your dad and your sister that I need their help ing bringing this television upstairs."
"Yes MOM!"
In the first thought from what mom said that we're moving, I knew that this is going to be a fresh start for each one of us. And that thought did really come true. I found a friend, we found a perfect house that perfectly fitted our family. We came from Bulacan. And the reason we moved here is that Dad and Mom found a job here in Manila and we are required to live here so that their transportation won't be hard. Thank you Lord for everything!
I looked at the Clock and saw it's 3:00pm.
30 minutes left. I guess I'll be unpacking my clothes then.
3:30pm
I hurriedly got my Volleyball and ran to the playground.
As I arrived in the Playground, I look around and saw Kathy with 2 boys.
"Kathy!"
"Khalil, You made it!"
I ran to meet up with Kathy.
"Hi." I said
"Khalil, This is Dan and Rick. They're my friends. Dan, Rick, This is Khalil. Our new neighbor.
"Hi bro. I'm Dan. Nice to meet you." He reached his hand for a shake.
"And I'm Rick. Welcome Khalil to the group." He patted me on the shoulder.
"Thanks." I said
"Wait, Is that a Ball?" exclaimed Dan.
"Uh yeah. I bring it in case you wanna play."
"Khalil, That's a good idea! We love to play ball games."
"What game are we gonna play?"
"Dodgeball!" Rick suggested.
"Good idea! I know a place where we can play it. Over there!" pointed Kathy
"Perfect! Let's go!"
We Split in 2 groups. Kathy And I, Dan and Rick.
We played for 20 minutes and tried to play in the slides, swing, monkey bars etc. We even eat snacks like turon and halo halo in the nearest eatery.
Until it's 4:50 already.
KATHY
"Phew, I'm tired."
"Yeah, My mother must be waiting for me now. Thank you guys for the time. See you soon." Rick said.
"Me too. Thank you Kathy and Khalil. Next time!" as Dan left too.
"Uh Kathy. I'll just take you to your house. It's getting dark." Khalil said.
"Thank you Khalil for the concern. My Dad must be home by now. Let's go."
While we we're walking....
"Thank you Kathy for being friends with me even though I'm just new here."
"You're Welcome. You deserve to have a friend since you are a very nice person."
"Thanks again. Look, I think we're here."
"Yes. Thank you Khalil. Next time I'll be the one takin you home.haha"
"You bet. I better get going."
"Be safe Khalil! Bye! I'll see you again tomorrow!"
"Yeah!"as he walked home.
I knocked at the door and my dad opened it.
"Where have you been?"
"In the Playground."
"No hugs for your Dad?"
"Haha."
I hugged my dad.
"So how are you with this new boy next door?"
"Dad! He's nice! His name is Khalil. We're friends! I inroduced him to Dan and Rick. We even played games and even eat turon and Halo Halo."
"That's good. Wait a sec. I smell delicious dinner... " as dad followed the scent to the kitchen.
I just went to my bedroom and began to look at the stars in the window.
I wish life will always be like this. Happy and no problems. I pray that my friends would never leave me no matter what problems and obstacles we'll face...
