the young father turned up the beat, waiting for his children's reactions. "yo, this is heat!" justice exclaimed. "definitely. monty, go lay some vocals on it"
the 6'2 boy walked into the booth, putting the headphones on. "turn 'em down a bit" . "come on. serve" . after he laid down a few verses, montero joined the rest of his family. "that's what i'm talking about baby!" rakim smiled, dapping the boy up.
"what can i say, it's in my blood"
"takeout or delivery?" laila questioned. "deliver's good." her older sister replied, closing the studio door. "hey dad, can i go to malibu with mom on saturday" kendell asked.
"no. i'm taking you guys to diddy's after party." rakim smiled. the whole room got quiet, staring blankly at him. "n-" "before you say no, it's not a choice. ya'll are coming whether you like it or not" .
laila & kendell groaned, not excited by their dad's decision. "i guess i'll go." justice shrugged. "as i said, it was not optional"
"i was goin-" . kendell's phone interrupted her statement, forcing her to take the call. "it's sylvia. do i answer it?" . sylvia was her stylist that her mother got for her, only for important events. nicki didn't play favorites between her children, but she hung out with kendell the most.
she felt like more people knew her as nicki minaj's daughter more than a$ap rocky's. it wasn't a matter on who was more famous, she'd always been more closer to her mother.
justice was the total opposite. he thought nicki was more of a friend than a parent, though he'd never let those words come out of his mouth. rakim had always been there for him in more ways than 1. he enjoyed taking about the music industry with his father & montero.
laila on the other hand, was neutral. she loved both of her parents equally, no favoritism. in all honesty, she liked montero more than anyone.
"what does she want?" montero asked her. kendell took a huge breath out of her mouth, answering with "mom wants me to a lakers game saturday" she spoke.
"tell her no, you have to do something this weekend." montero said. "on it" she replied. "we're getting outfits in the morning. girls, you should go to sleep. monty & justice will help me with this song" rakim said.

the table got quiet as ethan & arica waited for jaylen's response. "uh, maybe. he invited us, but that's up to jaylen" sierra answered for her.
with jaylen being 22, she moved her siblings out of her dad's house a while ago. she thought it would help her father raise his other 2 children.
they still live in the harlem metroplex, just not there. "sure, we can go" . they got back to eating, demolishing the puerto rican dish. "this is good jay" sierra complimented.
