Chapter 1 - First day
My alarm clock beeped.
Great.
6:30am. Time to go to school.
I got up and staggered to the bathroom. I had a quick shower. Blow-dried my hair.
And got dressed.
I hated my school uniform.
Black pencil skirt, White blows, Blue tie and a blue blazer.
I made my hair straight. Not an easy thing to do, and by the time I had finished it was 7:20am.
I packed my bag with my dinner card; I couldn't be bothered to make dinner so I would buy it at school.
I walked down my elegant staircase and walked into my cream living room, where I found my mother sitting at the table with a cup of tea.
She had on her usual silk blouse, pencil skirt and black heals. Her blonde hair scraped back into a bun on the back of her head.
"Darling!" she called to me as she saw me.
She gracefully ran over and kissed the air either side of my face.
Yep. This was real motherly love.
"What have you done to your hair?" she asked
I couldn't see the problem.
My dark brown hair was straight, just past my shoulders.
She always made a fuss like this. She never forgave me for cutting in a side fringe and layers.
"Mum!" I moaned. "Leave it alone!"
"Are you annoying my princess already?" called a voice from the kitchen.
My mother sighed and stepped back.
I rolled my eyes.
My father walked in, a big grin on his face.
"Stella!" he said and hugged me loosely. "How did you sleep?"
"Fine." I said curtly
"Oh please Stella. Drop the attitude." My mother chided
I was annoyed at them because they made us move from London to this crappy town. My friend's weir miles away and I was stuck here with two people who wouldn't stop pressuring me and catching every fault I made... even if it was something tiny like BREATHING.
I hated them, they weir nothing like me, they didn't even know me.
"I'm going to school." I mumbled and stalked to the door.
"You can stay out tonight, as long as you want, just have your mobile on you... and no boys!"
This was one of the rare good things about my parents; they let you go out, As long as you want. Though, truth be told, it was because they didn't care... but it was just a chance to get away from them.
I opened the door and walked down the steps to the gravel driveway.
I felt so stupid as I walked out of the coded gate.
My parents weir rich snobs.
I fit in better in my old neighbourhood because everyone was.
Here... not so much.
My parents had had this house built... and it stuck out like a sour thumb.
As I walked down the street the levels of graffiti grew and the colour of the stones went from bright white, to a dull grey. I could already hear police sirens.
Dodgy.
I rounded to corner and saw a group of kids in the same school uniform as me.
They all stopped and watched as I walked past.
I held my breath as I walked through the veil of smoke from their cigarettes.
I held back a cough for as long as I could, then inconspicuously gulped in the fresh air.
I was about to round the last corner, the relief that I had made it through in one piece just begging to wash through me when-
"Hay new girl!" A boy called
I cussed internally and turned to see a guy around 17 with black hair and hazel eyes eyeing me with curiosity.
"Fancy a shag?" he called
His friends howled with laughter
Gross.
"No, I'm fine" I said calmly
"Aww! Come on! You know you want to!" he said moving closer
"No. Really. I don't." I gritted my teeth
He smirked and raised his eyebrows suggestively as he reached for my arm.
"Get off me!" I yelled trying to pull away.
He was about to say something else, but a voice interrupted him.
"After the girls again Mitchell?" The kids immediately stopped laughing and cleared out.
A guy with blonde hair medium length hair walked over.
"Now, Now" he said to Mitchell "Let this poor girl go." He said calmly
Surprising the hand on my arm realised me and he stepped away.
"Run along." Said the blonde guy, and Mitchell scurried off to his friends who now looked ghostly white.
The guy held out his hand "My name is Sky." He grinned at me kindly
"Stella." I whispered
"See you around Stella." He winked at me and walked off round the corner to the school gates.
Wow.
I blinked a few times and jumped as someone ran into me.
"Sorry!" gasped a girl with short blonde hair and brown eyes. "Didn't look where I was going," she mumbled as she picked up her bag. She stood, re-egested her glasses and looked at me. "Are you okay?" She asked kindly
"Yes, thank you" I plastered a smile on my face
"Well... see you later maybe." She gave a little wave and ran off towards the school.
My mind was elsewhere. I couldn't get that guy-Sky- out of my head.
His eyes as he stood up to those guys.
I shook myself and ran towards the school.
I was tired... I must have imagined it.
For a second, she swore his eyes weir glowing ice blue.
