Beauty and the Beast/The Snow Queen bxb:
The Snow King had fallen in love with the boy he "kidnapped", or rather, Kai. And the moment was perfect. Him laying down on the ice with Kai on top of him. Then, their lips met.
*A few days before*
After countless hours of searching, the Snow King, Henry, finally got it. The recipe to make Kai normal again...
Kai was sitting on his uncomfortable bed when he heard a soft knock on his door.
"What do you want?" He asked, irritated. He knew it was Henry, and he didn't want to see him, he preferred the silence. Ever since the Prince had taken him that day a long, long time before, Kai had spent most of his time alone, away from him, but a strange feeling always made it's way through. This feeling made Kai feel all giddy whenever he though about Henry, and his heart did flips. Even though his whole world was dark and cold, just the thought of Henry was enough to not make it so bad.
The door opened and Henry stepped through, holding a bowl with a strange silver looking liquid in. "I brought you dinner!"
"I already ate." Kai responded and turned away from the door.
"But you didn't have any soup." Henry sat down next to him and handed him the soup. Kai reluctantly accepted it. "Drink."
Henry sat on the bed expectantly looking at Kai, who was just staring back at his cold, grey eyes as if challenging the Prince.
At the end of that short staring contest, Kai gave up and lifted the wooden bowl to his lips and let the liquid seep into his mouth."All of it." Henry said sternly. Kai drank the whole thing in one go, and the strangest feeling came over him.
He felt the liquid warm his insides and it felt like a massive weight had been lifted off his shoulders. His eyes went foggy for a second, then they cleared and the world went bright. His vision had mostly been grey, and now his eyes flooded with colour. Slowly, he turned to Henry and smiled. In all the cold months he spent in his castle and all the time he looked at him, Kai never realised how... handsome Henry looked. He had quite short blond hair, but it still partly covered his grey eyes, which Kai never realized had little flecks of brown dotted around. He had never taken the time to really look at someone in this way.
"Thank you." To Henry's surprise, Kai took his hand and squeezed it, as a sign of thankfulness. Shocked, Henry did nothing.
Henry didn't mind Kai staring at him, in fact, he kind of liked it, but he was starting to get weirded out.
"Umm, do you need anything?" Henry asked and Kai realised he'd been staring at Henry for a few seconds.
"Oh!" He pulled his hand away in embarrassment. "It's just that, well... your eyes, I never noticed."
Henry smiled. The potion worked, he thought, and his smile got even wider. Now maybe he could be closer with Kai, maybe even friends. However, his smile fell when he remembered. They could never be closer than that.
"What is it?" Kai asked, and for the first time since Henry had met him, there was actually worry in his voice. Henry decided it would be time to tell Kai the truth. He couldn't hide it anymore.
"There's something I need to tell you." Henry took a deep breath. "Ever since I first saw you, I liked you. And not liked as in friends, but as in like-like."
Kai took his time before saying anything, and even then, he wasn't quite sure of what to say. In the end, he decided to go with his truth.
"I like-like you, too." He finally said.
"But, how?" Was Henry's first reaction. "I basically kidnapped you! And...and the curse!"
"I don't know." Kai said. "I just know that the curse made everything dark and horrible for me...but...well... everything apart from you. I didn't want to talk to you because I thought you were kinda mean."
"Mean?" Henry raised an eyebrow, which made Kai blush. "But apart from that, really? You like me back?"
Kai nodded shyly. "So, how did this," he gestured to the surrounding iced castle, "happen?"
"It's a long story." Henry replied.
"Well, as you can see, I'm not a very busy person."
So Henry explained his whole story. From the curse, to the mirror, to his castle. As the story progressed, the two managed to get into a much more comfortable position. Henry was laying down on the bed, playing with Kai's fingers, and Kai was laying down next to him, almost cuddling. The sun made it's way behind he mountains, leaving a darkness that, for the first time, didn't scare Kai. In fact, he didn't think anything could scare him again, if all his time was spent like this.
*Now*
It was a magical moment. The two boys had just been ice skating like old friends, then it just happened. Henry found himself under Kai, and they were staring in each other's eyes. The moment was perfect, and Kai gently leaned down to kiss Henry.
Henry hadn't meant for it to happen like that, Kai leaning on top of him while he lifted his head up, but he loved it. He loved Kai. He wasn't sure about it, but this kiss and the way Kai was being so calm and gentle confirmed his feelings for him.
Suddenly, Kai pulled away and jumped up and away from Henry.
"What is it?" Henry asked him, fearing that his friend didn't like what had happened. Instead of answering though, Kai could only stare as his friend started to glow blue. Henry seemed to realize this as well, as he looked at his hands in confusion and suddenly feeling warm inside.
Slowly, the castle seemed to lose its blue color and the sun started shining on it again. The garden seemed to melt and was replaced by a beautiful foliage of green grass and blooming flowers.
Henry also changed, his skin not pale and cold anymore but warm and tanned. His eyes widened at the realization of what was happening.
"The curse." He whispered to Kai, who was standing in front of him, confused, so Henry explained more. "The curse! The witch said it could only be broken by...by..."
"By what?"
"By a true love's kiss." Henry said almost to himself. When he looked at Kai, he looked shocked.
Henry took the chance to walk over to him, and gently place his lips on Kai's, and after two words, the two walked back inside the magnificent castle.
"Thank you."
