What is real?

To gaze at the jewels of the sky, some so dull, some so brilliant, we wonder at what might be, what might be that is beyond, beyond us, beyond earth, beyond imagination. 

Earth, 23rd century

"Halo 02 reporting in, we are traveling ten times the speed of light. Repeat, we are traveling ten times the speed of light."

"Halo 02 repeat your status. We are unable to receive the current transmission."

"Halo 02 reporting in, we are traveling ten times th-"

"Halo 02? Halo 02?"

"..."

"Sir, we are loosing establishment to Ship Halo 02. We have only received in which it is traveling ten times the speed of a value we could not quite hear."

"Reques.. ab-abortio..."

"Halo 02? Halo 02? Sir Halo 02 is failing"

"Halo 02 requesting abortion, currently the ship is leaving the galaxies, already millennia away from Andromeda"

"Sir, Halo 02 is off-limits, away from the recommended distance from Earth, requesting abortion of the mission"

'Grant abortion to Mission X3-Z, Lieutenant Jones'

"Halo 02, abortion to the mission is granted. Turn away from the course and head directly to headquarters."

"We are loosi-i"  "S-sir.. w- off.. cour-.." "Leav- the galax-.."

"Sir, we lost-"

"I am well aware Lieutenant. Attempt interference to navigation of Halo 02 immediately."

"Yes, General." "General? Halo 02 is back on the Moon."

"How is that possible? Investigate this anonymous spaceship and locate Halo 02 immediately! That is an order!"

"Sir? Halo 02 is in Earth's atmosphere.."

"Get out, I will see for myself. There is no wa-" "H-how? It's in our headquarters!"

'Halo 02 reporting in.. at a minuscular mass behind you Lieutenant Jones.. This is not Andromeda, nor Earth.."

As Jones approached to grab the ship, her hands passed through the thin air, yet the vision so clear and vivid to her and every one of people in the NASA headquarters.

This story is one of my first attempts at short story, which means it isn't so as pleasing to your eyes. Yet, I will improve on my writing for future stories. Apologies, since I wrote this in a hurry when I got an "idea".
