"hailey i miss him." i mumbled to her while looking at amari who was walking around with a little slice of watermelon in her hand.

"i know you do , but you and jay need this break. with this all this happening in your life you don't need that negativity around you." she stated truthfully .

"i-i know , i can't be without him." i said lying my ass off.

"girl whatever , that nigga needs a break from you anyways and you need a break from him." she said.

"fine.."

"what about that boy you meet name keondre? is he nice to you." she asked and i nodded.

he actually was nice to me and we spend time with eachother a lot.

"yes hailey , he's the only friend at that school i got and mariah."

at school the next day.

"okay class we have a new student and her name is courtney." said mr.hunter and i noticed it was the courtney i used to date. i guess she noticed me too because she glanced at me.

"sit by aliyah." he told her and she nodded and sat right next to me.

"hi." she whispered.

"hey.." i said nervously. i haven't seen her since we broke up and i wasn't planning on seeing her again either.

"how have you been?"

"good." i lied.

"oh okay." she said.

"so what did you wanna talk about?" i asked her while she was fiddling with her fingers.

"i um missed you."

"i understand if you don't miss me because im the one who broke up with you . but can we still be friends?"

"yeah we can."

"you dress different." she said and i rolled my eyes

"i know i do." i said.

"well um..how about you come to this party with me tonight." she said

"you already know people up here?"

"well not exactly , this girl invited me to her party."

"what was her name?" i asked her.

"her name was katie , she throwing this big party in her sorority home."

"i think its best if i don't go." i mumbled to her.
