Peppermint, She thought as she wrinkled her nose in disgust as the scent filled her nostrils. She turned her head slightly to see if she could find the source in which it was coming from. She spotted Camden across the room leaning against the wall in his black on black attire, but the scent wasn't coming from him. She turned the other way and noticed a boy with golden hair and blue eyes staring intently at the ground, his face pain-stricken and pale. Although he was intriguing the smell wasn't coming from him. She was starting to get frustrated when the scent became suddenly stronger, and it was coming from behind her. Her breathe froze in her throat as she turned around slowly and caught the gaze of a boy with midnight blue hair that framed his face perfectly, but she didn't sense any menace from those violet eyes.
His lips turned up slightly at the corners as she tilted her head slightly, curiosity nagging at the edges of her brain. She took note of every feature of the strange boy from his full lips that were a shade lighter than rose petals to his tall demeanor. His eyes were a fiery violet that seemed to glow under his thick lashes that made them look brighter in a way. His skin was pale but glowing with life. She turned away when his smile broadened as he noticed her staring intently. She heard Camden scoff behind her which made her cheeks heat up in a flush of embarrassment. She turned around and glared at him profusely. He just gave her his best 100-watt smile which made her roll her eyes. She decided she would ignore the disgusting peppermint smell that seemed to be radiating from the mystery boy so she decided to set off and find Elena and Desiree.
On her way to the giant staircase that led to McKenzie's room, where she last saw the pair, a girl with long black hair stepped in front of her. A dark red liquid in a delicate wine glass was in her right hand and in the other was a long elegant cigarette. Her face looked smug and her boobs looked like they were going to pop in that too tight of a dress. Her lips were coated evenly in ruby red lipstick which were pulled back in a tight smirk.
“Zarra, what a pleasant surprise,” the girl said her voice dripping with mock excitement. Zarra rolled her eyes and turned to walk around her, but the girl just moved in front of her. Her smirk tightened and her gold eyes brightened menacingly, that's when Zarra smelled the nauseating peppermint. She looked at the girl and thought hard about what her name, but the peppermint kept getting stronger and stronger. Zarra felt her knees start to grow weak as black spots started distorting her vision.
“Oh, does Zarra not like peppermint?” She asked in a sickly sweet voice. Zarra leaned against the banister for support when she felt two strong arms wrap around her waist, supporting her for the time being.
“Daphne, that's no way to treat party guests,” a smooth voice said. The peppermint edged away slowly making Zarra's vision slowly creep back to clarity just as Elena ran down the stairs in a flurry of gold and powder blue.
“ZARRA!” She cried and slammed in the other girl almost making her topple over if it hadn't been for the mystery man holding her in place. Elena wrapped her arms tightly around Zarra's neck and hugged her close. Zarra felt the uncomfortableness creep up her spine slowly just as Elena quickly let go.
“Oh that's right, sorry.” She said smiling apologetically. Zarra smiled back then turned back towards a livid looking Daphne and glared slightly.
“Do not use my weakness against me or you shall get what's coming to you,” Zarra growled and turned on her heel as the guy let her go like the touch burned him. Zarra glared at him slightly and walked away quickly, making it look like the mile high heels she wore had no effect on her. She was done being assaulted at this party and was done wearing the tight-fitted black lace corset dress and the black stilettos which were starting to giver her feet blisters. She heard Elena and McKenzie call after her, but she was already out the door and walking to her black Mustang which was parked a block and a half away. Zarra felt his presence before she actually saw him.
