Ma nam Jeff

Story 2

The static of the radio turns to whispers in the back of Kevins head as he slowly falls asleep, his eyes slowly close, the picture of his favourite beach fades from his view. His body gives up and goes completely limp and he falls of of his chair. He yells in pain,

"Ow!"

Jeff wakes up with a startled look on his face.

"Nani ga okotta?" Jeff was Japanese. He knew some english but rarely spoke it, luckily Kevin knew both English and Japanese languages.

"I fell of my chair." Kevin said slightly embarrassed

"Sore wa bakadatta" Jeff said making fun of Kevin

"It wasn't that stupid. I was tired from stying up all night listening to the radio I fell asleep then fell off my chair." Kevin quickly responded desperately trying to save his dignity.

"Anata wa An'na o mezame saseta kamo shirenai."

"Did I wake Anna up though?" Anna was Jeffs' younger sister, she was only nine but was very good at solving things.

"Go back to sleep, I like you better that way." Jeff made strange noises in response to this but was interrupted by Kevin saying "Shush" loudly because the once annoying radio that had been screaming static for so long was trying to form words. Kevin got up and quickly

*Garbled Speech*

Kevin twisted and turned the knob on the radio until the broadcast was clear enough to hear.

"I will repeat."

"If there is anyone out there, come to the town of Bendigo we have supplies, shelter and protection for survivors. If anyone is out there please, come quick."

The happiness on both Kevins and Jeffs faces are to complicated to explain. They quickly wake Anna to tell her the good news.

"Anna? Anna wake up"

"What? It's like 3am come on lemme sleep." She mutters sleepily.

"It's actually 7 and we have great news!" Unable to control his excitement he accidentally yells.

"Fine, there was no need to yell though!" She was definitely awake now.

"Sorry I am really excited, we just got a message from some people in Bendigo! They have shelter and stuff. We must leave immediately!"

Anna smiles slightly.

"Can I drive?"

"No" Kevin says bluntly.

Anna gets up frowning at Kevin and takes Jeff to the car. Kevin being the only smart person packs food, medical kits and other important supplies that they would need. Kevin goes to the car with all their gear, Anna is sitting in the front seat 'how persistent will she be this time?' He thinks slowly getting annoyed already. and tells Anna to move from the driving seat. Kevin, Anna and Jeff all agreed that Kevin should be the one to drive, he may be younger than Jeff but Jeff isn't very good at most things. Kevin starts the car while Jeff gets whips out a map of Victoria and tries to find Bendigo on it.

"It's there." Anna tells Jeff leaning over his seat.

"Doko?"

"Right there!" Anna points to the point on the map labeled 'Bendigo'.

"Oh." Jeff feels useless and looks down at his feet, almost crying.

Kevin removes the map from Jeffs' grasp, Jeff didn't let go easily but Jeff gives up and Kevin passes it to his sister, thinking that it would probably be better of she uses the map instead of Jeff. This makes Jeff feel worse, one singular tear falls from his eyes. Kevin chuckles. Some parts of Kevin find joy in watching other peoples pain, and other parts enjoy all pain including his own. The first part of Kevin Jeff's and Annas trip was perfectly fine it was daytime so everything that could kill them was in hiding, it was when nighttime came that they would come and try to kill them.
