Grayson's POV

I don't get it. Why does Kaitlyn seem mad I'm back? I thought she'd be ecstatic, considering we were best friends. Her friend seems nice though.

" So, how long have you and Kaitlyn been friends? " I say, earning a small groan from Kaitlyn. She hasn't changed.

" 5 years. " She says, smiling. They became friends the year E and I left school. I look over at Kaitlyn, noticing that she's staring at the clock.

I figure I shouldn't torture her this entire class period, so I get to work on the worksheet that'd been handed out at the beginning of class. I hear her mumble " thank you " as she turns to talk to Carlie. They're mostly whispering, and I tried not to listen to their conversation too much. But I could tell it had something to do with me. Carlie kept looking over at me, earning a small smack on the arm from Kaitlyn. I chuckle slightly. Kaitlyn's head turns, staring at me.

" Something funny Dolan? " She's practically shooting bullets at me with her eyes.

" You guys keep talking about me, assuming I can't tell what you're saying. " I say simply, before resuming my work. I hear Kaitlyn sigh and tell Carlie " I'll tell you after class " before they both start on the worksheet.

-20 minutes later-

Mr. Akinson tells the class to begin turning in their papers, as the class would be letting out in 5 minutes. I offer to turn in the papers for everyone in the group, but Kaitlyn insisted on turning in her own.

" I don't need assistance, Dolan. I can turn my paper in all on my own, thanks. " I shrug and walk over to the teacher's desk to turn in the papers.

" So Mr. Dolan? What made you decide to come back to school? " He says, folding his arms.

" Not what Mr. Akinson, who. My mom thought E- I mean, Ethan and I needed more social interaction so she transferred us back into the system. " I say, puffing up my cheeks. I could feel my cheeks warming slightly. Why did I always get embarrassed talking to teachers about my brother and me?

Kaitlyn's POV

" I'm so frustrated. Who does he think he is, waltzing right back into my life like that. I was doing just fine without him. " I say, huffing.

" Maybe his mom just wanted him and Ethan to go back to proper school. You don't have to assume his sole purpose of coming back was for you. " Carlie places her hand on my shoulder.

" You're right. I sound conceited. " I put my textbooks in my locker. It was finally lunch time, the only good time of the day. I hated the classes I had without Carlie, which were most of them. The only classes I had with her were either boring or difficult subjects.

" We'd better hurry if we want to get our table. " Carlie said, walking ahead of me. I didn't really mind where we sat, as long as we had somewhere to sit. Carlie had this weird thing about maintaining our place at lunch. Considering we were pretty much looked over, this was something that was actually ours. Nobody else could really take it from us. At least, that's what she seemed to think. I felt someone tap my shoulder. I whipped around, to see an Ethan Dolan standing in front of me.

" Oh, hey Ethan. How are you? " I say, smiling. Ethan was my preferred twin. He was less irritating and easier to understand.

" Hi, Kaitlyn. Have you seen Grayson anywhere? " He says, looking over my head and around the hallway in search of his brother.

" No, not since first-period. But I can help you look if you want, " I offered. This would be some time to catch up with Ethan. I'd actually missed him, we'd always gotten along.

" Yes, that'd be amazing! " We strolled down the hallway together, peeking into classrooms every now and then. Ethan checked the boy's bathroom, I checked the girls. With a person like Grayson, you could never be too sure. It'd been around 10 minutes when we finally reached the library.

" There's no way Grayson is in here, " I say, skeptically.

" Actually, he's changed a lot since we transferred to online school. " Ethan walks into the library confidently, as I trail behind looking extremely confused. We skimmed the library attempting to find Grayson, when all of a sudden, I spotted him. He was sitting on the floor, in between the bookshelves reading something. I nudged Ethan on the arm. He looked over at Grayson and approached him.

" I've been looking for you everywhere Gray! Have you been here the whole time? " Ethan says, folding his arms like the drama queen that he is.

" Yup. My English teacher assigned a book to read, and I figured I could get started on it before any work gets thrown my way. " He says, standing up and turning to me. He pauses for a moment, before continuing. " What're you doing here? I thought you loathed me, " he said.

" I was helping Ethan. Don't get your hopes up, " I say, huffing. Ethan looks over at us, before telling Grayson they had to go.

" Fine. See you later, I guess. " They wave goodbye to me and walked out of the library.

God, I really missed those kids.
