Every night you hear a noise coming from your kitchen. One day you work up the courage to investigate. Upon entering you see a monster rummaging around in your fridge, stealing a sandwich and escaping through a portal. That was your favorite sandwich.

CRASH

I peered around the corner to see a large creature, it had to be at least 6 feet tall if not larger, with long claws.  My heart dropped but what I saw next confused me like nothing I'd ever seen before.  It picked up my turkey sandwich and left through a portal.  I'm a simple broke college kid who really doesn't want to get in a fight with a monster, but that peppered turkey is $6.78 and I have to buy a new pack every 3 days because of this monster so.  We're gonna need to have a little chat.

I waited all night inside the pantry until I saw the portal.  The monster began going through my fridge when I turned the light on.  It slowly turned and I froze, it was a brown furry creature with a snout and very large antlers.  It had a cloak that looked as if it was made of a black wolf pelt that dragged the floor.  It pointed its large claws at me.  "Are you challenging me, weakling?"  Its voice sent a chill down my spine, it was so deep and raspy.

"No, but do you know how much that costs?  I understand that it's amazing but I don't have enough money to feed both of us."  The monster looked me up and down before tilting its head.

"So payment is what you want?"  I slowly nodded.  "Then you must create more of these to fuel me.  In return, I shall bring you what I find on my journeys."  I pondered for a moment.  "Or I shall devour you instead."

"Deal, how many do you need a day?"

"Only a few, the energy of this meal fuels me easily."  The monster took a bite out of the sandwich he had in his hand and closed his cold blue eyes.  "I am Wingon, one of the last few of my kind, and you are?"

"I'm Lily, a broke human."  I offered my hand out to him, he seemed suspicious before taking it in his own and shaking it, when he pulled away, some of his brown hair was still on my hand.  It disgusted me as I shook the extra fur off and he sat at the small table I had and began to munch on the sandwich.

"I will bring you your payment when the sun falls."  Without another word the beast left and when I awoke the next day I thought it was a dream...that is until I saw the fur left over on the chair.

That night I waited for the beast with 10 sandwiches in the middle of the table.  I began to drift to sleep when I heard thumps next to me.  I quickly sat up as he sat down across from me.  "This is more than I expected."  He set a large brown fabric bag on the table.  "Your payment."  He slid it towards me, it was very heavy as I picked it up and looked inside.  "Something you can use in your world."  It was a bag full of coins, golden dollars actually.  "That should cover what I have taken from you so far.

He only ate 5 of the sandwiches but put the rest in his cloak before going through the portal, he didn't speak to me after giving me the coins but I was fine with it.  I counted the coins and was dumbfounded, he'd give me very old coins that would be worth hundreds.  I saved them for later use and was excited for the next night.
