5 : lust sin

Jimin took a seat at the kitchen table, accepting the glass of water Taehyung had fetched for him. He had gotten his trembling hands under control, but his heart still pounded nonstop. His eyes still saw Jeongguk's hungry face, his body still felt Jeongguk pressed against him.

"I'm dying to see how you... taste."

A shudder ran up his spine. The lust in Jeongguk's voice had been terrifyingly real. Yesterday, he had made it clear there was an attraction, one that Jimin thought he could reciprocate the next time they were alone. But this was no longer a simple crush—Jeongguk wanted to do things to him.

It's not really Jeongguk, Jimin told himself. It's the vampire within him. Just like... like the voice that was inside your head... Jimin tightened the grip on his glass. He could empathize with Jeongguk on many levels. He wasn't in control right now. The Jeongguk Jimin had come to know would never be that forward.

"All right, group, listen up!" Namjoon sat at the head of the table, the rest picking seats between his and Jimin. "Our maknae has gone blood crazy and is out somewhere in the city. We need to find his before he sucks too much blood from innocent people. So, how are we gonna do that?"

"More importantly," Taehyung interjected, "how are we going to subdue his once we find his?"

Hoseok raised his hand. "Easy! Wooden stakes and some holy water!"

Namjoon gaped at his. "We're trying to catch him, not kill him!"

"We could tie him up." Yoongi held up a length of rope.

"He's a vampire now. He has super speed and strength," Namjoon said with a shake of his head.

Taehyung tapped a finger on the table. "But doesn't he get weaker if he doesn't drink blood? If we can find him and distract him long enough for him to get weaker, maybe then we can tie him up and bring him back."

Yoongi nodded. "That's as good a plan as any."

Jimin sipped his water, taking in scattered bits of their plan. What would happen if they couldn't contain Jeongguk? What would happen if they couldn't find a way to reverse what had been done? Everyone had thought that Jeongguk being around his friends would help his self-control. Perhaps it had, but only for a short while.

His hand moved up to his neck, the condensation from the glass was cool against his skin. Jeongguk had almost bit him. It hadn't mattered that they were friends. Then again, it wasn't like Jimin had put up much of a defense.

He's still Jeongguk. He doesn't want to do this. Maybe we can still reason with him.

"Come on, Jiminnie, let's go!"

Jimin jerked his head up to see Namjoon and the others exiting the kitchen. He grabbed his flashlight and hurried after them.

Everyone piled into Seokjin's van—the only vehicle that could accommodate them all. Seokjin sat at the wheel, making his usual adjustments. "So, um, how are we going to find his?"

"Well, he flew north," Yoongi said. "That's a good direction to start, I guess."

"Okay then." Seokjin took a deep breath. "Here we go."

Namjoon looked over from the passenger seat. "'Seok, you sure you don't want me... or anybody else to drive? This is kind of an emergency, and no offense, but—"

The tires squealed as Seokjin slammed his foot onto the accelerator, snapping everyone's head back from the sudden force. The van peeled off the driveway and roared down the street, swinging a perfect left at the first turn. All the while, Seokjin kept a perfectly straight face; the only change was the determination in his eyes.
