Spencer's POV:
So finally school was over. I couldn't wait to get out of this hell. I got out of my last period and then I bumped into someone.
"Princess?" JUST LEAVE ME ALONE. Or don't.
I took the deepest breath. "Toby."
"Look, I just wanted to apologize for what I did this morning. It was wrong and none of my own business. I was trying to get close with you because I need you to do me a favor."
Wow. Okay I really didn't know what to say right now. Like did those words actually come out of his mouth? And he actually looked guilty?
"What do you need?" I said and crossed my arms. After I helped him with whatever he wanted I was done with this guy.
"I'm failing Maths. And I can't I just can't let my parents think that I'm a disgrace for them. Will you help me with it? I heard you have great classes."
I stared at him longer than I should. I didn't think that he will cause any harm if I help him with maths. Right? Like what could go wrong?
"When?" I asked and a slight light flashed through his eyes for a second. But then he got back to his cocky, smirky self.
"Tonight? If you don't have any plans of course."
I sighed. "Give me your phone." I said and he furrowed his eyebrows.
"What?"
"Come on give it to me." He took it out of his pocket and handed it to me.
I wrote my number and then rang my own phone. I handed it back to him.
"I will text you the address. You can come at 7. Bring your books." I said and walked away without his answer. Just one math studying. Nothing more.
I turned around to catch a glimpse of him but he was nowhere to be found. I ignored it and walked to my car.

I checked the time and it was 6.43. WAIT! TOBY IS GONNA COME OVER. I got out of my bed and set my popcorn aside. I looked in the mirror and I looked like absolute crap. I quickly got rid of my ponytail and let my curls go loose. I put a quick make-up on with just a little eye shadow and mascara and lipstick. I worn a black tank top with jeans. I checked the time again 7.03. I let out a breath. Wow I was quick. Then there was door bell. I got downstairs and opened the door.
"Hey." He simply said after checking me out a few times. "Hi. Uh-come in." I said and stepped aside for him to come in. He smiled and sat on the couch carefully. I closed the door and before I sat next to him I kicked away the thought of how hot he looked in that plain black shirt. In some way, we were kind of matching.
"So uh, what do you got?" I asked but he seemed too distracted to answer. He cleared his throat and took out some books from his backpack. "These are what I got."
I got the books from his hands and took a glance at them. "Okay great uh..you open the pages that give you a hard time and I'll get us some drinks. What do you want?" I said and stood up.
"Beer." He said, his eyes focused on the book amd flipping through pages.
Alcohol? Jesus this boy really pushes my limits.
"Are you trying to get me drunk, Cavanaugh?" I said and crossed my arms smiling, leaning against the kitchen counter.
His eyes landed on mine. But he wasn't flirty or cocky, he looked confused. "Oh, you want to drink beer too?" He asked and that's when I realized how stupid and unnecessary my question was.
"Uhm.. Yes." I said hoping it will add some sense into what I said.
"Well, for your information, I don't think that one beer will get you drunk princess." He said and smirked this time. Well, he's back.
I tried so hard to find a good answer but I couldn't. So I just rolled my eyes and got into the kitchen and grabbed two beers. I opened them and got back in the living room.
I gave one of the beers to him and surprisingly he seemed so focused on the book. I set mine on the table and got closer to him to see what he's looking at.
"Is this the one that you are not good at?" I asked and he gave me a side stare.
"Yeah well. It's one of them." I nodded my head and flipped the page over. I hadn't realized that we were sitting so close but I guess he did since he kept his eyes on me all time.
"I think there was one more in he-" he started and reached for the book on the table in front of us but stopped when he realized that he poured my beer on the ground.
"Shit." He muttered under his breath. I couldn't help but giggle a little. He tried to clean up with his hands but I stooped him. "I'm so sorry." He said and looked at me with puppy eyes.
"Hey. It's okay. Really don't worry about it." I said and smiled to him. He smiled back.
"Plus, I didn't feel like drinking beer anyways." I said hoping to lighten the mood a bit more. He laughed at my comment. He stared at me a little longer before he started leaning in. It took me a second to realize what was happening so I turned my head away from him.
He bent his head down, looking guilty. There it is. That awkward silence that I am the most scared of. "Look," I began, hoping to fill this silence as much as I can.
"You're great. I was wrong about you before. I just.. don't wanna be with anyone right now." I said hoping he will understand. I mean I wanted this but.. I just broke up with Logan and I couldn't let Logan think of me that way.
He looked at the floor before looking at me back again. "Yeah, yeah. It's okay. Sorry." He said and then we both sat on the couch again. How are we gonna keep studying after this 'moment' we shared? "Considering I am the person who ended your last relationship." He said and smirked. "No. I think I saw it coming. You just did it before one of us did. Plus, we weren't at the best terms before anyway."
He smiled and nodded. "I think I should go." He said and started to gatter his stuff. I didn't stop him because this was just too awkward right now. He put the last book in his backpack and headed for the door. I followed after him. "I will help you with this.. Maths. Okay, I promise." I said and he just nodded and left. I closed the door after him. Why was he so cold? Did I like.. break his heart or something? I mean he wasn't in love with me or anything god? What did I do? I could have just kissed him and this wouldn't happen. But am I even ready for that yet? I groaned loudly to myself and then a shiny metal on the couch caught my eye.
I walked to it and picked it up. It was his lighter. I went back to give it to him but he was already gone. I checked the lighter a bit. There were initials carved in it. "A.W." That's odd.
Well, I guess I'll have to talk to him again tomorrow.
