hi readers! so, i decided to make a story about Rina (played by Winona Ryder) because she doesn't get much attention and i'd like to make a longer plot with her character. please note that it won't be completely like the movie! there will be some changes! also, please don't hate on it! if you don't like the idea, you don't have to read it. :) thank you and i hope you like it!It was the first day back to school. Rina eagerly threw threw on her Joy Division t-shirt and some jeans. Joy Division was one of Rina's favorite bands. The rage each and every song could let out of her chest was something no other band or artist could accomplish. And well, Lucas Blye liked the band just as much. Rina knew it would catch his eye, and she hoped it'd make him say something to her. Maybe even compliment her.
As the bus arrived to school, Rina quickly stepped out to go find the boy she'd been waiting to see all summer. She sees her friend Ben leaning against a nearby tree and runs over. "Ben!"
"Hey, Rina! How was your summer?" Ben asked, flashing her a wide smile. The two hung out for a while at the beginning of the summer, but that all changed when Ben had to go away to Italy with his family.
"Nothing special. Just stayed home for the most part. I saw Labyrinth at the theater. That movie.. Wow." Rina paused, "How was Italy without me?"
Ben sighed and shrugged, "Y'know, I expected better. I learned that I hate Italian food-"
"What kind of maniac hates Italian food?" Lucas interrupted, now standing next to Rina. Her body began to tense up and face felt like it had just been taken out of a microwave.
"Italian is gross!" Ben said in defense.
Lucas shook his head, "You don't know what you're missing. One time, I went over Rina's for dinner, and her folks had spaghetti with vodka sauce. Thought I was living in a dream."
Lucas' comment made Rina smile from ear to ear. Though he was complimenting her parents' cooking abilities, she felt special.
Ben's eyebrows raised, "Say.. You think I could come over for dinner sometime?"
"You know you're always welcome over at my place. My parents love you guys." Rina smiled. The two boys nodded as they walked into the school.
"Oh, Lucas! Would you maybe wanna go to the movies lat-" Rina began to ask, when he interrupted.
"Maybe another time, Rina. I've got plans tonight. I gotta go guys. See you at lunch." Lucas shouted, running towards an older girl with red hair. "Hey Maggie!"
Maggie looked at Lucas with an adoring smile. Rina's heart dropped. But, she knew why he may have liked her. Maggie was a few inches taller than Rina, and had longer hair. She had dark eyes just as Rina did, only hers seemed more glamorous.
Rina watched as Lucas walked Maggie to her first class. She sighed, which made Ben look over at her with a concerned expression. "You alright, Rina?"
She nodded, "Yeah, just tired. I'll see you at lunch, okay?"
Ben looked at her for a moment but nodded as the bell rang, signifying that it was time for the first class to begin. The two quickly walked in opposite directions to their classes. Rina had German class. As she got there, she noticed Maggie sitting alone. Rina sat next to her. She didn't know anyone else in the class, and figured it would be easier to sit with someone that Lucas knew.
Maggie looked at Rina and smiled, "Hi, I'm Maggie. You know Lucas, right?"
"Yeah. Yeah, he's my friend." Rina smiled back, "How did you guys become friends?"
"Well, it's a long story." Maggie giggled, "We met over the summer. Spent every day hanging out with each other."
Rina's smile faded a bit. She had asked Lucas to come over many times during the summer, but he almost always declined her offers. "That's really nice. I'm glad you guys had fun."
The two talked for a few minutes until the teacher told the class to quiet down and listen. The class period was spent learning the teachers name, as well as everyone else in the class. Rina decided Maggie was a nice girl, and that she wanted to be her friend too.
