Deep in the large forest, someone was running. The sound of running footsteps echoed through the woods. But it wasn't just one person running through the woods. No. It was multiple people. The white snow covering the grass floor crunched with every step the people took.
Animals of all kinds, small and big, ran in every direction as shadows quickly passed by, mimicking the movements of their owner. Running through the forest were two teenagers; A girl and a boy.
The young teenage girl had messy curly shoulder-length crimson red hair, and her eyes were a bright emerald green color. The teenage boy had short messy white hair, white like the snow, and his eyes blue as ice.
The white-haired boy was carrying a little girl in his arms as he ran. The little girl was quite young, looking to be around three to four years old. The young child was looking around at her surroundings with her small blue eyes, clueless about what was going on.
The two teenagers continued running through the deep forest. They ran through small and tall bushes where their clothes got torn by the branches. The two barely managed to avoid slamming into the trees, thanks to the light emitting from the moon that shined through the snow-covered leaves.
The little girl felt something cold land on her cheek, so she looked around before lifting her head to stare at the grey clouds that covered the sky. Then the girl's bright blue eyes sparkled when she saw snow coming down the sky and watched as it fell around her. When a snowflake landed on her face, she scrunched up her nose, feeling how cold it was.
Passing a few more trees and running through a tall bush, the two teenagers finally stopped running as they stood in a large open field. The trees around them created an almost perfect circle.
The little girl gripped the boy's shirt as he tightened his grip around her. The child watched the two teens pant heavily. She watched as they desperately tried to get air back into their lungs. After a few minutes of heavy breathing, the two teens finally caught their breath.
"Young ones," A woman's voice suddenly said, startling the three kids. "What are you doing here in the forest? It's rather late in the night to be playing around."
Lifting their heads to look in front of them from their crouched positions, two dragons were standing before them; A female purple dragon and a male blue dragon.
The female dragon's scales were a bright purple that gleamed in the moonlight, her eyes a deep violet. The look in her eyes showed intelligence and wisdom while her tail swayed behind her. The male dragon's scales were blue like the sky during the day as a white snow color coated his stomach, and his yellow eyes glowed brightly as the sun did during the day.
The two dragons stared at the humans in front of them. They glanced at each other before looking back at the three children and taking a closer look at them. Bruises littered their body, with cuts small and big covering their legs and arms, and clothes torn in some places with dried blood smeared everywhere.
The blue dragon scrunched up his nose once he picked up the scent of blood on them. He turned his head away from them and closed his eyes, but he opened one eye to stare at the younger sibling. The purple dragon slowly dropped her body down on the floor and leaned her head closer to the three. Her violet eyes stared at the little girl. She silently explored her small body, checking if the girl was also injured.
'There's blood on her clothes, but... she doesn't seem to be bleeding. I don't see any wounds on her.' The dragon thought. 'A small cut on her cheek, but it'll go away within a few days.'
The female dragon was glad to see that the child didn't look to be seriously injured, but her eyes softened once the teenage boy put the young girl down. A large deep cut covered her entire back. Blood was still oozing out from the deep wound. The dragon's gaze met with the boy's eyes, wanting to know how the small child got such a wound.
