Asmara, the city of lights, terrifyingly beautiful place where souls come to seek a fortune. There's a natural hierarchy here, a neat way of classifying the purpose of this city's residents. It's quite simple. You have the Crofters, the bottom feeders who struggle to survive through every day. They belong at the bottom, used for the bodies and shallow minds. The Elites sit at the top, disinterested in the collapsing structure of their kingdom, living on the backs of those who suffer for their riches. And then there's people like Eryn Zhvikov - people who see opportunity. They call themselves dispatchers, an intricate society of assassins who do the dirty work Elites think they are above.
Eryn Zhvikov thought she knew her standing in society and how it dictated who she was. But when she is selected for a mission she has no choice but to accept, the carefully constructed world around her begins to crumble. The only option she has is to mold into the new role thrust upon her, or to watch everything she bleed for burn into ashes.
