Chapter 2
Days past and Maria still kept thinking about Keith. She talked about him with her friends but most of all with Cady. Cady was the type of girl that attracted many boys but still she never dated. Once a boy asked her to go on a date but she thought that she was still young to go on a date.
One day Maria was talking to Cady when they were with their friends. Keith was four steps ahead of them and Maria was talking about him: how she was feeling that he was acting weird and she was thinking that he didn't really like her. That night Maria was really sad and nothing could cheer her up!
The day after Cady was really happy. She was chatting with a boy she really liked and he asked for a date. She was really happy and when she told Maria she was happy too and she forgot all about Keith.
When Cady went on her date she was afraid and excited. Keith was giving her some tips about how to be a perfect date because he had many dates with different girls. When Cady came back from her date they sat next to the group and while the time passed some of them were leaving to go home. At a point there were left only Maria, Andrea, Cady and her date. Maria was talking to Andrea about Keith. 'He has been acting really strange lately! I think he knows that I like him and he is keeping his distance! Did he tell you anything?' Andrea thought for a moment and said 'No, he didn't mention you.' 'Is it true? Andrea you're lying you're face tells everything. Come on tell me he knows right?!' 'I did not tell him anything, I swear!' 'I trust you Andrea but tell how did the subject turn on me?' Andrea had to tell her everything so she took a deep breath and told Maria how it happened, 'Last Friday when we were walking Cady home he asked us 'Does Maria like me?' I looked at Cady but her eyes were telling me not to say anything so we said nothing. The he said 'Well, I don't care what you say because even if you deny it I still think that she likes me!' and we changed the subject.' Maria was angry and sad and really upset. She never thought that her best friends will know something and not tell her. ‘Why you didn’t tell me anything? How did you keep this from me!?’ ‘I’m sorry but we thought….’ ‘What did you think that it will make me feel better find out from someone else and telling me that you knew too?’ Cady didn’t know what was going on and so she asked what was happening. ‘Guys what is going on?’ Andrea turned slowly to Cady ‘She discovered about what Keith told us!’ ‘Why did you tell her?’ ‘I didn’t!’ Maria was more upset when she heard that Cady didn’t want to tell her. ‘Why you don’t want to tell me?’ Cady turned to face Maria, sat next to her and said ‘I hate seeing you so sad. I want you to be happy. But maybe I was wrong. Yeah I was wrong! I promise you Maria I will never keep another secret from you again! Please forgive me!’ ‘Yeah I forgive you, but its better like this I feel better to know that he knows. Now I have to find a way to forget him.’ Cady’s date, Kevin turned to them ‘Who are you talking about?’ Cady looked at Maria and asked her ‘Can I tell him?’ Maria thought about it for a second and then said ‘Yeah why not. It’s not a big deal. You can tell him the whole story.’ Then Maria’s phone rang. It was her mother and she had to leave so she waved her friends goodnight and gave them hugs and left.
That week Maria couldn’t get her mind off Keith. She kept looking at his photos and be jealous of the girls he liked, of the girls who were close to him and of the girls who took his photos for his profile picture. Then she was satisfied that she was going to forget her feelings about him. Cady was glad to hear that Maria was ready to move on and she was ready to help her. Before Maria’s and Cady’s mission began Maria looked for the final time to his photos and kissed one of his photos and then she was ready for the mission. Cady was sending her links of boys friends with Kevin so it will be more likely. Maria was searching for boys too and was reading all about them. When she reads where he lives and find out he don’t live in the same town of hers she goes to the next. Then Cady sent her three links of the best friends of Kevin’s and Maria looked them up. There was one which she liked and asked Cady what she thinks about him. Cady said that he’s cute and Maria went on looking at his picture then she decided that he was nice. The only problem was that he was two years older than her and she was a bit afraid of that. She preferred a boy her age or one year older than her only not two. But that was the one.
When she was waiting to see if he was online Andrea talked to her and told her that a boy asked her to get to know each other. Maria told her to say yes and get the opportunity. Then Maria saw that Jacob was online and she was so excited but she knew that he wasn’t going to talk to her. So she told Cady how she felt! Cady told her that sometimes we have to make the first step and told her to talk to him. Maria wasn’t so sure about it but then she decided to talk to him. Everything that Maria was telling Jacob were the things that Cady told her to say and it type of worked. She was really excited to go out that night so she could tell the others and maybe see him too.
