Prologue
This is hopefully going to be a book that I can stick with. I am really bad at getting bored part way through! This book is based on the Aberfan disaster, which upsets me greatly as my family are from nearby. This was a disaster that happened in October 1966. A load of rubbish from the mining had been dumped on the hillside, this eventually became too much and the pile swept down the hill, burying the junior school and surrounding area in Aberfan. Aberfan became known as the town without children, as only 25 of the students survived. 116 children between the ages of 7 and 10 were killed.
Hopefully this book will give you an insight into how horrible it was. I hope I have done justice to the families involved.
