AN: This is all based on a dream I had, so apologies if it makes no sense sometimes.

I frantically rush around the house, trying to get everything just right. My cousin, Emily, is coming home today from California, so I'm throwing her a "Welcome Back" party. This will be the first time I've seen her since she went off to college, so to say I'm excited would be an understatement.

Emily's parents are off on another trip somewhere, so it's just me and a couple of Emily's friends from school that she's kept in touch with. We're all running around, making sure that we have everything Emily likes.

I grab sodas out of the fridge and put them in the cooler with ice. Heaving, I drag the cooler out to the back deck. Man, I hope I put enough in there, I chuckle. I hear the doorbell, followed by shrieking. I assume Emily is inside by now. I straighten my shirt and take a deep breath before going inside. As I walk toward the small crowd at the front door, I hear Emily's melodic laughter.

"Emily!" I all but scream as I maneuver around everyone. I run up to her, hugging her tight.

"Sammy!" She squeezes me back, forcefully removing all the breath from my body. I sputter and pat her back, causing everyone to laugh. Emily chuckles and releases me. "I've missed you so much little cuz!"

I smile, "Likewise," and hug her again.

After a couple more minutes of hugging, I realize there's someone standing behind Emily, looking slightly uncomfortable. Pulling back from her, I take a good look at him. My breath catches in my throat. No way. It can't be. I close my eyes and shake my head a little bit, before looking again. Nope. It's Markiplier...

"Um... Em... who's your friend?" As if I need to ask.

"Oh my gosh! How rude of me! This is Mark. Mark, this is my cousin Samantha," I shake his hand, feeling a spark of electricity, but it must be from all the cleaning I've been doing.

I daze out as Emily introduces hi to everyone else, not really believing that Mark Fischbach is in my living room. I come back to reality when I feel Emily's hand on my shoulder. I quickly realize that everyone, including Mark, moved over to the dining room and were chatting. I look over to Emily.

"Really, Em? No warning?" Emily knows that I'm a fan of his videos. I'm not a fangirl or even a major fan in any way. I'm just subscribed to his channel and watch when I see an interesting video.

"C'mon Sammy, what could I have said? 'Oh, yeah, by the way, I'm bringing a famous YouTuber that you watch and we just happen to be friends'?" I smack her arm lightly.

"Yes! You could've said exactly that! How do you know each other anyway?" Emily is going to fashion school in Los Angeles. There's no way she could've met a famous YouTuber.

"We live in the same building. We met in the elevator. I had tons of groceries and he helped me with them. Turns out we lived a few doors apart. And... I may have told him you watch his videos..." She trails off.

"What? Emily! Now he'll think. I'm a total stalker psycho!" I whisper yell. This is not good. I just wanna get to know the guy, and I can't if he thinks I stalk him on the internet, which I don't!

"Don't worry, he doesn't. I promise. Now let's go join everyone else; standing here whispering isn't gonna help your case." She chuckles and walks over to everyone else, leaving me to huff before following.

I make my way to the back deck, unintentionally brushing against Mark as I do. I grab a soda out of the cooler. I walk back inside and sit on one of the stools, not really listening to the conversations going on around me until I hear a certain voice.

"You already knew who I was didn't you?" I hear from right next to me, making me jump in my seat a little. I look up and realize I sat down right next to Mark. I quickly compose myself before responding.

"Guilty." I chuckle a little, earning a laugh in response. I've heard him laugh in videos before, but this is different. This is real. I like it.

"Em said that you watch my vides occasionally," I blush a little before nodding. He smiles before changing the subject. "I really like your house, is it just you?"

"Currently, yes. I have two roommates but they're on summer trips. What about you? Em mentioned that you guys live in the same building." He smiles.

"Yeah, it's just me right now. Can't really fit another person in a one bedroom," He chuckles. "Are you in school right now?"

"Actually, I graduated in the spring. Pre-vet."

"Wow, congratulations!" I blush. "That must've been difficult."

"Eh, the years went by quick. The only problem now is finding a job in my major." I chuckle. "I've been working at Starbucks for the past few years. What do you do for a living?" I ask, feigning ignorance.

"Well," Mark's voice becomes very posh, "I work in social media. I guess you could say I'm a trendsetter. I'm all over the internet. I'm surprised you've never heard of me." We laugh. We sit in comfortable silence after that.

The rest of the night was kind of a blur, I ended up chatting with Mark most of the night, though. We all gradually moved outside to the back deck. I had set up white fairy lights all around the deck and backyard. I definitely went all out for this party, what can I say, I love my cousin.

I'm standing on the cement patio near the deck, looking out at the rolling hills behind the fence. I'm never leaving, this is the most amazing place on earth. I hear someone come down the stairs from the deck and come to stand next to me, but I didn't bother looking.

"Did you do all this?" I smile, still not looking behind me. Why am I not surprised it's him?

"Yeah, I haven't seen her in two years," I say softly, still entranced by the landscape.

"Well, you did an amazing job." I feel him put his hand on my shoulder before dropping it.

"Thanks, Mark."

AN: What do you guys think? Let me know!
