Anneke really hated when Jordan drove her home.
It was literally her worst nightmare.
It seemed whenever it happened something stupid and/or mildly inappropriate would happen.
And Anneke had to live with whatever damage the two high schoolers in front of her caused.
So she sat in the back of the red Jeep as "Wait For It" from the Hamilton soundtrack blasted from the speakers.
She was tired, so she undid her seat belt and layed across the back seat."Anneke, put your seat belt on." said Kurstann not even looking up from her book.
Always the mom friend.
"Uhhhh! Fine!" Whined anneke as she took the middle seat belt and wrapped it around herself, still lying down.
"That's not what I meant and you know it!"
"Leave her alone! She's fine!" Offered Jordan who just entered the conversation.
Kurstann huffed and went back to her book while Jordan smiled knowing she'd won this battle.
Jordan, the driver of the red Jeep had very short brown hair and matching brown eyes. Make up splashed her face.
She wore jeans, a white Journey concert tee, black leather jacket and black and white sneakers. Her purple backpack sat beside anneke in the back seat.
Kurstann on the other hand wore black leggings, a yellow sleevless top and pink flats. Beside her lied her jean jacket, flower print backpack and turquoise computer bag.
Her shoulder length light brown hair was pulled into a meesy bun with a pencil sticking out of it and her big purple framed glasses, which complemented her wave blue eyes were askew. Not a speck of make up was seen on her face.
It was funny how two people so different had become best friends.
It was a mystery not even anneke, the third member of their trio had solved.
Anneke just lied in the back seat, listening to Hamilton and minded her own business until she felt the Jeep pull into the drive thru.
She loved these girls but dam did they have a Tim Hortons obsession.
Jordan pulled down the window of her car.
"Hi! Can I please get 3 medium chocolate chip ice capps and a 50 pack of timbits?" She said into the mic.
"Yes ma'am! Your total is $23.78." Said the oddly familiar voice on the other end.
They pulled up to the window and Jordan pulled out her bank card and payed for their snack.
That's when anneke caught a glimpse of the girl taking their order.
She had beautifully dark skin and red streaked shoulder length hair and big black glasses similar to her own.
Betty truly was beautiful.
But anneke was over her.
She was straight.
And that was fine with anneke.
"Oh hi Annie!" She said noticing the back seat passenger.
"Hi betts."
"Have a great day!" She said handing Jordan their drinks.
Kurstann handed her her ice capp.
"A friend of yours?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yah, I guess you could say that."
Kurstann nodded contently, unaware that they'd just spoke to anneke's former crush.
