Tyler Garrett and Alexis Taylor have been best friends since they were young.
What Alexis never knew is that Tyler isn't normal. He's a proxy—a child chosen to serve a higher species called the Fates. And Tyler was born a proxy.
Tyler has always been rebellious, and to deal with rebellious proxies the Fates bind each one to another human of their sexual orientation. When their mate dies, so do they. When they die, their mate feels the connection snap. If a proxy is away from their mate too long after meeting them, they go insane.
Alexis is Tyler's mate, and he will do anything to stay with her.
Too bad the Fates have other things in mind.
You might remember this story from my old account. You might not remember what it was about. Here's a new and improved description. The actual story is still the same crap it was before, sadly.
IMPORTANT: The first chapter was written based on a different plot than the others, so it speaks about the butterfly effect and stuff. That doesn't matter as much as it did when I wrote it.
