E L E N AI pick out a pair of grey knit leggings, black snow boots, and a black jumper.
I also let my hair down and put a grey beanie on.
As I walk down the stairs, I can already see Adrian waiting for me by the front door.
"Hey," I say.
"Elena," he nods in recognition at me. He always does that; says my name instead of 'hi' or 'hey'.
He opens the front door for me and we start to walk out of the main gates together.
"So where are we going?" I ask.
"You'll see in a minute," Adrian says seriously.
"Always so serious," I mutter under my breath, but loud enough for him to hear. I know it's bad, but I have this urge to keep pushing his buttons. He's always so moody and I think he needs to have a laugh for once.
"What was that?" He asks and turns to face me,
even though I know he heard what I said."Nothing," I lie, in a playful tone. Adrian chuckles deeply.
We walk a few more paces in a half comfortable, half awkward silence; if you know what I mean.
"Tell me about you. I want to know more," he says catching me off guard.
I let out a small laugh and shake my head. "There's nothing really to know about me," I shrug my shoulders.
We're walking down a beautiful gravel path in a forest. The light from the sky is scattered through the tall trees and snowflakes randomly fall from above. I can hear the birds tweeting and the wind whistling.
"I'm sure there's lots and I'm determined to find out," Adrian reply's with a smile on his face, his picture perfect teeth on show.
"Well," I begin. "I used to live in Pennsylvania with my parents when I was young. Then I moved to California, but it was hard for me to enjoy it there. I couldn't find any jobs I liked. So I decided to move to England, and here I am," I tell him and he listens.
"And you left your parents?"
"Not exactly," I reply quietly, and he gets the hint that I don't want to talk about it now.
"So what about friends? Any boyfriends I should know about?" He asks curiously.
"Why should you know if I have a boyfriend or not?" I fire back.
"Do you?"
"No."
"Good," he mutters under his breath, but I managed to hear it however I didn't say anything. "How old are you, Elena?"
"20. You?" I reply.
He looks a bit shocked at my answer before replying, "32."
Adrian's 32 years old? He looks a lot younger for his age.
"Wow. You look younger," I say what's on my mind.
"Why is that?" He smirks at me.
We stop walking and in front of us is a huge frozen lake surrounded by trees. There's a bench closer to the lake which Adrian sits on and I follow.
"It's so beautiful here," I comment, looking around me. Adrian's silent for a minute while I take in the surrounding.
"Elena, you didn't answer my question," he pushes.
"You're just fishing for compliment, aren't you?" I smirk at him and he chuckles. "I don't know. Just your eyes. They're very... glowey,"
"Glowey?" He repeats.
