"oh great. why are we here, again?" alexis asked, clearly annoyed at the short man who stood in front of her.
their manager, daeho, sighed again and was about to reply when a tall middle-aged man entered the room. he was their ceo; kang woojin. the younger members bowed, however, alexis, alyssa, and bella stayed still.
"because there are rules you must follow if you want to debut," woojin replied, staring at alexis.
"what exactly are those rules?" loredana asked as she fumbled with her fingers, not wanting to look at the owner and founder of cosmos entertainment.
"the first rule is to pretend to be the happiest couple in public, and on camera," woojin begins.
"the second rule is to never speak about this arrangement to anyone; no family, no friends, nobody," woojin continued, looking over at the reactions of the seven girls, "and the last rule is to never actually fall in love with them. i don't want ties between you all."
"i would never fall for someone who only wants to use me for their benefit," bella argues, her tone harsh as she narrows her eyes at woojin.
"if that is all, may we leave?" alyssa asked, growing a bit impatient.
"no, we need to further explain the plan," daeho began as he passed out a thick packet; about 20 pages. "not only do you have to make sure you are following the rules, but you need to also make sure you keep a good public image."
yuhwa looked down at the paper, reading it quietly to herself as she did. before she could comment, bella threw a fit.
"this is what we have to go through? why!?" bella shouted, wanting an explanation.
"look, bella, the easier you do as what we tell you, the faster all of this would be over," their manager replied sternly.
"how do we know their fans won't cause us to disband?" hwaera asked, looking at daeho and woojin.
"as the group leader, you take most of the responsibility. you. figure. it. out," woojin taunted her, rolling his eyes, smirking to himself.
"but we're a girl group under your label, your first group," sooyoung reminded him. "won't that affect your company?"
woojin didn't reply, instead, he left the room, leaving the seven girls to stare at their manager. daeho sighed, also leaving the tense room, not wanting to deal with the seven girls. he knew that it wasn't right, but regardless, he too had to follow what he was told.
