Chapter 3: Misunderstanding

“I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that last part.” Ayako said.  “I-it’s nothing” Yoshiki replied.  “Kishinuma, she went that way” said Ayako, while pointing towards some bushes. “Who?” Yoshiki asked. “Ayumi Shinozaki.. that speech of yours.. makes me even like you more now.. but you seem to get really happy when you’re talking about her, so I decided, I’ll let you go.”

“Won’t you be alone?” Yoshiki questioned. Ayako shook her head “I know self-defense, besides, she could be in danger right now. She’s probably alone in that forest right now, so go!” Ayako smiled and pushed him.  “Thanks Ayako” he smiled, and after that, he started to run into the darkness of the forest.

“SHINOZAKI?! WHERE ARE YOU?!” he called out, without any success. He then realized she might have allready finished the test, so he hurried back to the start, but while running back, he heard a small whimper coming from the cave he came across.

He decided to follow the voice, and it became louder as he went inside the cave. Not much later, he encountered a blue haired girl with two ponytails, but he couldn’t make out if it was Ayumi or not, since the girl had her face covered. “Shinozaki..?” he said with hesitation. “I-is that you?” The girl raised her head a bit and spoke up “Kishinuma-kun..?”  He sighed. So it was her. “What are you doing here?” he asked. “Are you.. crying?” “What are you doing here? Aren’t you supossed to be with Ayako?” she said, wiping away her tears.  “She said she could take care of herself, so I went looking for you.” She looked away from him. “Why did you came looking for me?”  Yoshiki blushed and scratched the back of his head. “Well, I was worried about you.”  The girl got up and wiped her clothes. “Thanks, Kishinuma-kun, but I can take care of myself” Ayumi replied.  “Just go back to Ayako.” She started to walk away, but Yoshiki grabbed her sleeve. “Kishinuma, let go.” Ayumi said through gritted teeth.  “No.” Ayumi turned around in anger and started to yell. “JUST GO BACK TO AYAKO, FOR GOD’S SAKE” Yoshiki felt his blood boiling, and started to yell back at her. “I DON’T WANT TO. JUST LET ME STAY WITH YOU!” the girl replied in anger. “WHY WOULD I, YOU LIKE AYAKO MORE ANYWAY.” Yoshiki clenched his fist around her wrist. “I DON’T CARE ABOUT HER!”

“THEN WHY DID YOU KISS HER!?” Yoshiki’s grip around her wrist loosened and he was left speechless for a few seconds. “Wh-wha- how do you know?” The girl looked at his eyes in anger. “THAT’S NOT IMPORTANT, JUST GO BACK TO HER, I CAN FIND MY WAY BACK BY MY-“

Before Ayumi  could shout the next word, Yoshiki pulled closer at her collar and pressed his lips against hers. Ayumi gasped against him and pulled away.  She tried to hide her now bright red face and slapped him. “W-WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? THAT KISSING ME WOULD MAKE EVEYRTHING BETTER?” Yoshiki grabbed her at her shoulders, and pulled her into a kiss again.  Ayumi struggled to pull away again, but he hold her tightly. After a short time, Ayumi relaxed and moved her lips along with his.  

Not much later, Yoshiki pulled away and pulled her into a hug. “I don’t like her, at least not in an romantic way.” He said. “But I do like you, Shinozaki”  

“Don’t ever make me feel jealous again.. I hate seeing you with another girl, Yoshiki. You’re mine and mine alone.”  Ayumi said, as she pressed her lips against his ear.

Yoshiki blushed, but he smiled. “I won’t.  he said, as he picked her up on a bridal way. “You must be tired, so I’ll carry you untill the end” Ayumi smiled and pressed a kiss against his cheeck, before wrapping her arms around his neck and hugging him.
