Chapter 5 Work

"Here you go sir, have a nice day!" I gave the customer their bag full of stuff they purchased.

"Thank you sir, you too!" He said as he walked out the door and waved at me. I smiled a bit then-

"KEVIN!" My co-worker Anthony yelled for me.
"YES!" I yelled back. What does he want now?
I walked from behind the cash register to meet Anthony on the back room to see him holding a cardboard box that he cut open, it was full of stuff to restock the items on the shelfs. I work at a small sized hardware shop in the middle of Vancouver.

"Hey you think that maybe you can help restock these? Please?" He asked looking at me.

I gave him a blank stare and simply told him.

"No." Then I started turned around attempting to walk away but he grabbed my hand and I turned to him meeting his eyes.

"C'mon you have to dude!" He begged. "I don't like stocking!"

"Neither do I but-"

"I'll pay you extra!" Anthony yelled.

"I-uh" I was taken back by what he said, he'll pay me extra to put stuff on a shelf! Hell ya I'll do it!

"Alright I'll do it this once" I said taking the box from his hands and walking to the shelf. I set the box on floor and opened it to see the contents in it.

I was about halfway through my stocking of small tools and other items on the shelf until I felt someone tapped my shoulder.

"Uh excuse me sir" the person said, he had a deep masculine voice. I looked up to see a man in a suit and tie, I stood up not wanting to seem rude and curious with his question but was met with a taller figure than I had expected he seemed about 6'2 and was a nice tan color. "How can I help you sir?" I asked politely.

"Hi, can you please point me in the direction of yours tools for cutting?" He asked nicely and kinda too formal but he had with him a slight smile. I pointed towards the end of the store with large shelves and displays of circular saw and blades "Thank you sir" he said and I looked up to him.

"Also I think that man over there has something to tell you or ask you because he's been staring at you for about ten minutes now" he added pointing behind me. I followed his finger scared to see who was staring. We get a lot of creeps and wierdos in here considering where the store is located but soon relaxed when to my surprise I was met with Alex's light blue eyes the corners of his mouth lifted slightly and he started walking over to me.

I thanked the man and he walked away as Alex approached me, he was wearing a light blue sweater with a white collar poking out, dark blue pants and brown shoes.

"You look good" I told him and he smiled more. "Thank you" he said "you work here?" He asked looking around the store and I nodded. "Yes sir!" I saw him flinch a bit when I called him sir, which was off but I ignored it. "How did you know that I was here?" I asked him. he chuckled slightly and got closer to me. "I have... connections to where you are." he said then pointed to the man I just helped out.

"That man there." He said pointing to the man I just helped. "He went up to you earlier didn't he?" He asked and I nodded. "Well, works for me." He said.

"Oh so now your stalking me?" I laughed

"Percisely" he chuckled again. I finished laughed when he spoke up again.

"So when does your shift end" he asked
"Uh around 8:30" I told him "why?"

"Perfect! I wanna take you out to dinner tonight"

"What time?" I asked him

"9 pm sharp, dress nicely, not that you don't dress amazing already" he said which made me blush a bit.

"Alright meet me at my place" I said "also here" I got my phone and texted him my address. "Alright then 9 it is, see you tonight." he said carressing my cheek with his finger. "Alright see you tonight!" I said a little loud. He turned and smiled, then kept walking.
Oh damn i have a date with Alex tonight how can this day be any better?

 I smiled to myself and shook my head slightly. I bent back down and got back to stocking tools on the shelf like I was before but this time I was thinking of Alex and our date tonight.
