A few days went by and luckily I was doing a great job at avoiding Drew. Not only did I need to avoid him after my episode the other night, but I needed to figure out why I felt the way I did towards him.

I hadn't been out of the house much the past four or five days and I wasn't making any plans to leave today either. That day I just wanted to lie on the couch in nothing but my tank top and underwear eating cereal and ice cream with the company of Netflix while I wallowed in my own self pity.

I was in the mist of watching a movie called "My Sister's Keeper" and crying, when I heard a knock at the door.

"FUCK!" I thought "This is the most perfect time to have company"

My eyes were swollen from bawling and I wasn't even dressed not to mention how bloated I felt from all the junk food I had eaten.

I got up and bolted to my room, grabbing the first pair of clothing I saw and I went to the door. When I opened the door I was stunned to find out it was Drew. Maybe he was here to ask me what my problem had been the past few nights and why I was always so weird and awkward.

"Hey" I said greeting the door in a timid voice.

"Want to go on a walk or run with me today since that was the deal we made the other night if I showed you some of my music. Also I thought it would be cool if you came down to the beach with me so I can introduce you to one of my friends that's in for a few days, since you don't know too many people around here." He said.

I was in total puzzlement of why he'd want to hang out with someone so strange as I was, but I didn't hesitate to say "sure, I need a few minutes to get dressed. To be honest I thought I scared you away the other night with the way I was acting. I don't really know what got into me." Even though I did know what had gotten into me, "feelings" got into me.

He laughed then replied "It's totally fine! It was your first time getting high of course you'd freak out, I was already expecting that, But awesome! So I'll see you in forty five minutes?"

"Yeah see you then!" I said back.

I could officially say goodbye to the idea of staying home all day alone, because once again Drew had talked me into something with his spellbinding charm.

I went and got a towel out of my bathroom cabinet and jumped in the shower. The water was so warm and comforting; I didn't even want to get out, when out of nowhere I heard talking in the vent "Ashlyn change of plans! Get dressed up and meet me over here in two hours!" Drew yelled from his bathroom vent to mine."What the fuck" I said in a slight whisper. Thinking to myself "can he always hear what I am saying through my bathroom vent? What about when I sing in the bathroom mirror or while I am in the shower? God, why did I have to move into such a cheap place?"

Finally, I got out of the shower. I wrapped the towel around me and went to my bedroom. Drew told me to to dress up? What does he even have planned? Hell, I don't even know if I have "dress up" clothes.

I tore everything out of my closet and all the boxes I still haven't managed to unpack. I wasn't having any luck finding anything! Then after 30 minutes of searching my whole room I hit the jackpot. Even though I had no idea where he was taking me, I didn't know if I would be over dressed or under dressed. I figured I would just try it on and get ready and then if he didn't like what I had on I would come back and change. I grabbed my light colored jean high waisted shorts and a high topped t-shirt that had the saying "Live With Love" on it with a big daisy in the middle of it. Which I thought was super cute. I didn't much feel like doing my hair so I just put it in a fish tail braid and put a daisy flowered head band on, which went well with my shirt. To finish up getting ready I did my makeup; It wasn't often that I wore make up, but I figured if Drew was going to take me to meet his friend then I'd give him something pretty to show off.

It was still thirty minutes until Drew told me to meet him but I still wanted to make sure that he approved of my outfit. So I went and got my sandals and walked over to his door.

He must sense me coming because once again he opened the door before I had a chance to knock. Maybe it was all the Victoria Secret Love Spell I always drenched on before I left to go anywhere, who knows.

"How do I look?" I said.

"You look like a free spirited flower child" He insisted on saying back to me. "but don't worry you look like a beautiful one." While cracking a cute grin.

Did he just call me beautiful? Maybe I really did have a minimal chance at getting him to fall for me after all.

"Hope you don't mind but we are going to a poetry café to see my friend share some of his stuff."

"No I don't mind at all." I stated.

Since I was already there we just left then. The café wasn't to, too far from our complex so we just walked. It was quickly turning to night as we were walking and the sky was a lovely mixture between blue, purple, pink and a tiny bit of orange. It wasn't humid or hot like it was the other evening when we went on our jog. Tonight was such a beautiful night and I was spending it with Drew. On the walk over we didn't really talk much, it was like one of those times where you just want to soak in the beauty and scenery.

We finally got into the café, which reminded me of a cozy little coffee shop back in my hometown. It even smelled like hazelnut. There were probably two dozen people crowded around a tiny stage.

Soon enough an extremely tall guy with brown wavy hair and gauged ears with tattoos came over to Drew and I. "What's up dude! Who's your new lady?"

New lady? I was in no way Drew's new lady.

"She's not my new lady, at least not yet" Drew said while looking over at me and giving me a cheesy wink. Drew was always so smooth with his words like the flirtation just rolled off his tongue like nothing. "Well Drew's soon to be lady my name's Kenny! Nice to meet you!" Drew's tall friend said.

"Hi Kenny I'm Ashlyn nice to meet you too"

Kenny reminded me of one of those hipster/hippie boys, the ones you could just tell they lived to make other people happy. He was constantly full of giggles and his smile was so vibrant.

After the friendly introduction Kenny's name was called from the dimly lit stage. It seemed as if when Kenny was in town he was defiantly a reoccurring act at the cafe, everyone was chanting his name.

Kenny began to say in his deep but soft voice, " Some of you may already know this one, this is symphonic sparkle. I hope you all enjoy."

When he started reading his poetry, I was struck at how the sentences rhythmically flowed so nicely. All of the words Kenny spoke fit perfectly in the category of my feelings towards Drew.

I remember the ending of it going something like "those eyes, I'm just so lost in your bliss. Honestly just trying understand how are you so beautiful and how is this so pure? You know I've always believed in magic, but now I know magic believes in me."

For a second I could feel water forming in my tear ducts, when suddenly Drew came up behind me and put his arms around my hips, lowered his lips to my ear "He's good isn't he?"

"Amazing" I said back as everyone cheered and clapped for Kenny.

Kenny with his huge vibrant smile walked off stage back over to Drew and I.

"Ah, that was so awesome! Dude since I am only in for a day or two do you want to take the lady out to Coconut Cove?" Kenny insisted.

"For sure, Ashlyn are you down?"

Of course idiotic me thought Coconut Cove sounded like a cozy little spot on the beach to chill, so I said "Yes, I am totally down!"
