Everything was silent. The only sound was of his footsteps echoing in the abandon street. No cars drove by. It was only him. The calm dead air relieved him from the stress he has to endure back at the house. He kept his head down looking at his shoes. His legs just walking where ever they felt necessary. In the soundless night he heard feet slamming against the concrete. The person’s heavy breaths coming out in deep pants ringed in his ears. He lifted his head up, searching the dim light with his caramel eyes, to see a girl, not much older than him running. Out of the corner of his eye he sees something move behind a dumpster. He swept his shaggy blond hair out of his face, turning fully to see nothing there. He lifted his nose into the air, only to smell another wolf close by. That must be what the girl is running from. He thought. He picked up his pace to follow the girl. Something inside him telling him he needs to protect the her.  His feet slamming against the ground as he picked up his pace so he wouldn’t lose her. The girl kept looking over her shoulder. She seemed afraid. He didn’t want to scare her even more so he kept his distance. After nearly 5 more minutes of sharp corners and long empty roads, the girl slowed to a stop to catch her breath. He felt the wind pick up its pace, blowing his hair all over the place, bushes rustled and the trees swayed, their leafs very lightly brushing together like they were whispering. All of a sudden the most amazing smell filled his nostrils, cherry bubble gum. He stood paralysed watching the girl. As if she sensed someone watching her, she lifted her head, making her hooded robe fall off her head and onto her shoulders. Revealing her face. He felt his breath get stuck in his throat and his heart beat faster. The girl was looking him in the eye with her piercing blue eyes. She had jet black hair and beautiful full red lips. A tear running down her cheek brought him back to reality. It was then he noticed the other tear stains on her face and a cut on her forehead, blood running down the side of her face.  He frowned, thinking even with tear stained cheeks and blood on her face she was still the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. He took a step closer to her, she started to fidget and move backwards. Breaking eye contact with him. His wolf was repeating words too fast for him to understand. The girl looked around her then back up to him, more tears running down her face then onto the ground. Blood mixed with tears. Before he could process what was happening she took off running again.  His wolf howled in agony as he whispered a word he never thought he’d hear. A word that will change his life forever.

He was once again paralysed and couldn’t move, but this time it was from shock.

“Wait! Stop!” he exclaimed, as his raven haired girl rounded the corner into darkness.
