The vibration in her right palm and a loud TING sent her blueberry eyes fluttering open, alarmed. On the display screen of the red flip-phone read, "One New Message." Opening the flip-phone, she begin pressing the buttons to open the message. It read, "Good~Morning. ^_^"
"Who?" She whispered aloud to herself. Yet as if the one who texted her could hear her, it replied, "I'm a friend. ;)"
She frowns as she sat up and looked around the room. Empty. Another TING rang from the phone in her hand. "I'm not in the room with you...but I can hear you though!"
"Who are you?" She asked aloud, scrunching her eyebrows in thoughts.
"A friend!" It replied once again. "Don't you have a name?"
"Hm...a name huh? Doc! You can call me Doc. <3"
Her blueberry eyes formed a frown as she glance once more around the room before asking, "Doc? Is that your real name?"
"It's a nickname...how's your head feeling?"
"My head?"
TING. "Yes, your head? Are the bandages still tight? O.0"
Bandages? There are no-. She touched her head quickly and sure enough, just right above her eye brows, there were indeed white bandages that was wrapped around her head.
TING. "It's a good thing that your hair can cover the bandages so you can still look pretty. LOL. Your brown hair is so pretty! I wished I had brown hair instead of black hair.T^T"
She spoke aloud, touching the bandages on her head. "I don't remember having bandages on my head yesterday." Yesterday? She quickly checked the time. 8:25.
TING. "Surely, you remembered wrong? It's been on you since you came here. Oh! Don't worry about it though, it's not uncommon to forget things in this place."
"Where am I?"
TING. "Hm...I don't know what to tell you...It's not a bad place to be at but it's not a good place to be at either. Ummm idk! Sorry! T^T"
"Oh...will I get to go home soon?"
TING. "Home? Do you even remember where or what a home is?"
"Of course, I do," she drew out but her words died as she thought hard about it. Where did she come from? She furrow her brows and frowned. TING. "Don't make that face. >~<Ummmm I'll tell you something good though! Look at your time."
She glanced at the time on the phone. 9:30. Time really do pass by quickly in this place.
TING. "Now get off the table and check your time again after counting to 60."
She did as she was told, she got off the table and started counting to 60 before checking the time once more. 9:31. Realization dawned upon her. Time on the table passes by much quicker than when she wasn't on the table.
TING. "You must have figured it out right?? I knew you would since you're so smart! ^o^"
She checked for a date on the phone and found none. "How long have I been here?"
TING. "It tells you, doesn't it? 0.0"
She frowns, "Where?" Looking around the room, it was still empty.
TING. "The numbers. It tells you how many more days you have left here."
What numbers? She glanced at the phone. The only numbers she sees is the time and- of course! The number on her wrist. Looking at her wrist, sure enough, the number went from 49 to 48. "Why am I here?"
TING. "Um... I can't tell you that either. I can get in trouble for telling you...>~<."
"How did I get here then?" She asked glancing at the door. There was still no door knob nor handle to open the door with. The reply didn't come as quick as the previous ones. No, it came hours later and it was brief and short. TING. "You came in through the door. How silly of a question is that, Alice?"
Alice? Is that her name? She repeated her thought aloud. TING. "LMAO. How can you forget your name already? ^0^Of course, it's your name, Alice. You even told me it yourself. Well, I gtg now. It's quite hectic up here and my workload is increasing. I'll talk to you tomorrow again, Alice. :3 xoxo"
With that, she close the phone after checking the time while climbing back onto the metal table. 21:17. She yawned, feeling exhausted as she lied down and shiver from the coldness of the table. Her blueberry eyes stared at the blinding white ceiling until it grew dimmer and dimmer. Into the darkness, her thoughts were in haywire. She had questions facing through her mind that only led to more questions. Just who is Doc? How does he know her? He have mentioned in the morning that he was a friend but he didn't said that he was a friend of hers. The numbers on her wrist determines the days left she has to stay in this empty room but what about her fingers and her wounded feet? If there's no door knob to open the door with, how did she enter the room. Just why did she come here?
Her head pounded from her thoughts so she brushed them all aside as her eyes flutter shut. Well, at least she knows her name now. Alice, her name is Alice.

A/N:
>.< Finally, she has a name so she can finally stop being referred to as "she" all the time. And now, Alice finally have a mysterious texting buddy! Is that a good thing or a bad thing? 🤔. Welp, until next time! >~<zzzzzz.
P.S. once again, bear with me on grammatical errors and whatnot!
