"Andi!" Lex yelled from the other line of the phone.

"WHATTT" I screamed back.

"Were out!" Lex yelled.

"Okay! Just breathe! Meet me at the market house!" I calmly replied and hung up the phone.

It was a cold Saturday in November. I decided it would be best to put my green sweater over my gray tshirt. It was a little snug and didn't look good with my dark blue, baggy jeans. I didn't care. I put on my pink rectangle glasses and ran out of my room.

My mom was on the couch, as usual. She was watching judge Judy and knitting. She had red hair just like me. Hers hung over her face like a tangled mop. Her skin was shallow and gray. She was very thin. She was also very depressed due to my father leaving us. I tried to avoid talking to her, but the door I was trying to exit with was next to the television. "Where do you think your going?" Mom said.

"I'm gonna hangout with Lex" I said.

"Okay. But only under one condition."

"Yes mom?"

"You never come back." she laughed.

"Yeah, I wish." I said and slammed the door.

I was used to my mother being rude to me like that. She actually used to be an amazing person and a great mother until my dad left. I hate him for doing that. He was an awesome parent. I was 6 when he left, I remember that day perfectly. I gave him a hug before he left for his job at a recycling factory. he promised he'd come home and grill chicken, my favorite! He never came back.

I was walking to the market to meet up with Alexis Bellin, who gave the nickname Lex to herself. She was my best friend. Ever. Actually, I've never had another friend besides her. Lex was the only person in my life that made me happy. No one ever wanted to be my friend or socilize with me. they all told me that I disgusted them and creeped them out. It never bothered me though. As long as I have 1 good friend I don't need anymore.

The market wasn't that far away, about half a mile. I got there to see Lex waiting in front of the building. Lex had long blonde hair. She had big brown eyes and a perfect face with dimples and a perfect body. Everyone at my school said she was the prettiest one in 9th grade. I was deffinatly the ugliest. I had chest length frizzy, curly hair. My eyes were tiny and green. my noze and lips were huge. I wore rectangular pink glasses that made my eyes look even smaller. I couldn't help the way I looked. I don't know what people did to look the way they are. I was born looking like this so sorry if you don't like it.

"Hola chica!" Lex said. she wore gray uggs, black leggings, a neon green crop top that showed half her stomach, and a long knitted gray sweater.

"Nehow kailan!" I replied.

She giggled. "Are you ready to do some shopping?"

We walked into the store. it was old and small and run down but it was the best grocery store in Hudson, Michigan, the small farm town I lived in. we went over to the fruit section. "here Lex, I'll look on this side and you go on that side."

"Here they are." Lex said.

"Yayyyy" I said as Lex handed me a bag of lemons.

"Now to the sugar." I said.

We found a pound bag of sugar and proceeded to the checkout lines.

"Hey Alexis!" The checkout lady said. "Why hello Mrs. Garin!" Lex replied.

Lex knew everyone. Her mom and dad were the towns only doctors, so Lex was the richest person in the entire town and was popular for it.

We bought our ingredients and left. "Hey Lex, I need to tell you something." I said.
