Author's note- I re wrote the 3rd chapter so reread it before you read this chapter, thanks!

I woke up on a bed that wasn't mine. in a place that wasn't my house. In clothes I didn't own. I tried to sit up but I couldn't. I tried to move, scream, anything.

I couldn't.

"H e l p" I tried to say, but nothing came out. I even tried to cry, but I couldn't. I was paralyzed.

I was in the hospital. I could tell because of the graying walls, dim lights, doctors surrounding me.

"There's a chance she's in a coma, but that chance is really slim. Her heart rate is too slow. Even if she is in a coma, she won't survive." A tall male doctor said to a lady. Wait, no. It was Lex's mom. What was she doing here?

What was I doing here??

As I looked around, I noticed Lex's sister and dad standing around me.

"Alexis, stay with us. Please don't die." Isabel said. She was crying.

I' m n o t L e x! I' m A n d i! I tried to say but I couldn't. A weird feeling came into my head. It felt numb and I was really tired so I closed my eyes

Suddenly I woke up. "Can you hear me? You fainted!" A nurse said.

It had been a dream.

"Where am I?" I asked.

"After we told you your mother was murdered, You fell to the ground. You have been knocked out for almost 3 minutes! Do you need any water?" She asked.

"No, no. where's Alexis Bellin?" I asked.

"You don't want to stay with your mom?"

"NO. WHAT ROOM IS ALEXIS BELLIN IN." I asked sternly.

"R-room 306..." She said softly. she was obviously hurt.

I got up and ran as fast as I could down the hallway.

I flung the door open to room 306.

Lex's mom, dad and sister were all there, standing right where they were in the dream. The same doctors were in there and the walls looked the same.

i had dreamed as Lex and she was alive.

"Hey Andi! What a wonderful surprise!" Mrs. Bellin said kindly.

"Guys. Lex is alive." I said frantically.

"Yes, your right. she's in a coma. She's only barley alive. She's here but she's not. She could die any second." The doctor said.

I nodded and ran back to the room my mom was in. "Is she... dead? Like for real dead, not in-a-coma-dead?" I asked the nearest doctor.

"She is definitely dead. We have to do some more tests, but so far we know that she died from suffocation, and the handprints around her neck show that she was most likely strangled, or she strangled herself."

"She wouldn't have strangled herself.. I don't think" I said.

"Are you sure? We'd have to run a few more tests but most likely she was killed."

I nodded. I sat down next to my mom, she was ice cold, her face was a redish-blue, and I could tell she was dead. Why would someone kill her?

Was I next?

Suddenly 2 police entered the room.

One of them started talking to a doctor and the other, a tall man with a beard came over to me. "excuse me, are you Andi Sampson?" He Asked me.

"Yes sir." I replied.

"I need you to answer some questions about your mother's murder." he said. I nodded. "So how and when did you find your mom?" He asked.

"Well I came home from my...friends house and saw my mom on the couch and I thought she was sleeping. I didn't see anything suspicious about her so I went to sleep. I woke up later than usual the next day and tried to wake her up. That's when I found out she was dead. I called the police and that's it."

He wrote a few things down.

"Okay, so what time did you get home?" The policeman asked.

"Around 10:00 p.m." I replied. "And when was the last time you saw your mother alive?"

"Ummm... like later in the evening Monday night." I said.

"Mhmm..." he said, writing more down.

The other police, a woman, who was talking to the doctor, came over to me.

"So records say your mom and dad split up." She said. "Yeah..." I replied.

"And your mother has no siblings, correct?" She asked.

"Yes."

"Have you seen your father recently?" She asked.

"No, not for several years."

"That's what I thought. We couldn't get ahold of your dad, and we couldn't find any other family besides your aunt Carol, Your father's older sister."

"Um okay...?" Why was she telling me this?

"So your aunt is on her way here. She lives about half an hour away and your gonna be staying with her until we find your father. Your aunt says he hasn't contacted any family for 3 years."

"Wait... So I'm gonna live with my aunt?"

"Yes, at least until we find your father."

I nodded. I never met any of my aunts, as far as I remember. I don't remember aunt carol at all. Now I'd have to live with her?

I thought back on the past day. The only two important people in my life died and I'm moving in with my aunt. Great...

I wondered what life would be like living with my aunt. I hoped she was nice.

This was all happening so fast. I couldn't even believe it. My whole life has completely changed. I felt a tear trickle down my cheek. I liked my life before! Why did it have to change?
