The Unexpected Date

Part Four: Sugar and Spice

Staring down at Janae's adorable chubby cheeks and plumped lips, I couldn't restrain myself any longer. Leaning down, I softly pressed my lips against hers. I wasn't surprised to know that she taste of honey and sweet pastries that we were eating as we were walking in the museum. Becoming more intoxicated, I deepened the kiss just to be able to become apart of her.

Hearing her take a deep breath to let out a sigh of content, I smiled and pulled back to study her beautiful round baby doll brown eyes. At a lost of words, I slowly bent down to taste her honey lips once again. As I was 1cm away, she turned her head to say something.

"What?"

She looked at me, then over my left shoulder to see the woman from earlier. I scrambled off of Janae and stood in front of the woman.

"Uh, sorry, sorry." I mumbled, as I bowed my apology.

Red faced, the woman just stared at me confused. Janae slid off the bed and stood next to me smiling at the worker.

"He says sorry. We got a bit carried away. We promise it wont happen again." Janae laced her small fingers with mine.

The woman smiled and said, "Its not a problem. It's just that my boss sent me over. I actually think you guys are adorable."

Janae and I looked at each other and smiled. She said, "Thank you so much."

The worker smiled, "You're welcome." She walked away and I became extremely embarrassed and shy. What the hell has come over me? I'm usually not the type to show affection out in the open like this. With my face turning red, I cleared my throat. Janae looked up at me, "Maybe we shouldn't..."

Before I can finish my sentence, she smiled up at me, looped her fingers through mine and pulled me further towards the back of the store. I didn't notice we stopped walking until she let go of my hand and jumped on the bed. I stood looking at her not knowing what I'm supposed to do next.

Janae sat up and looked at me, " What are you waiting for?"

"Huh?" I asked a bit puzzled.

She smiled and patted the spot next to her. "Come on. Lay down for a while. I promise I won't bites."

I went to the side of the bed and laid down. Not knowing what I'm supposed to do with my hands, I rested it on my stomach. We were silent for a while just listening to each other softly inhale and exhale. I slowly became aware of the rhythm of her breathing as if it was a lullaby, which put me in such a relaxed state that I began to drift off to sleep. It wasn't until I felt a slight shift in the bed and her chubby small hand landing on my chest, that I looked over to see that she has also fallen asleep.

I turned on my side still holding her hand to my chest, and studied her features. Wow she's beautiful! From her beautifully sculpted eyebrows, to the way her long lashes fan out to tickle her adorable chubby cheeks. I smile as my eyes travels down to her cute button nose and stops to rest on the sight of her slightly parted honey-glazed lips.
"Why aren't you sleeping?"
I glanced up to see Janae sleepily looking at me. I smiled wider and said, "I was too busy watching you sleep."

Janae laughed, "The whole point of us coming here was for a nap but you decided to watch me sleep. You're such a cute weird dork."
I smiled, "You think I'm cute?" She sat up abruptly and leaned over me with big round eyes.
" Are you freaking kidding me?! You're gorgeous. I love your laughter the most. " Janae answers readily.
"Really? There was a time that I didn't smile much."
Janae massages the frown lines from between my eyebrows. My eyes drifted shut as I sighed in content, "I'm just glad you found something to smile the way you do now." She said.
Before I can say anything else, she continued, "Just think, the things that caused you to not smile made you the person you are today. You're humble, loving, caring, wise beyond your years, talented, hardworking, and a total goofball. I'm very proud of the man you are today because now you have something to smile about."
I turned over and pulled her down to snuggle her. Kissing her forehead gently, I said, "thank you. No one actually said anything like that to me. I knew my fans loved me but I didn't know to what extent that it actually goes to."
"We love each and every single one of you. No matter what you guys choose to do, we will supports you. It's what you guys deserve."
I smiled at her as she played with our  intertwined fingers. "Ya." I said softly.
She looks up, "Hmm?"
"Can you tell me about yourself? I feel like you know so much about me but I don't know anything about you."
"Hmm, lets see. I work in a warehouse on most days and a hockey arena during my off time."
"What do you like to do for fun?"
"Sing badly around the house..."
I burst into laughter at that statement as she lightly hit me.
"Hey! Not all of us can be singing superstars!" She said as she had this adorable pout.
"It's okay, it's okay. I'm not the best singer either."
"Stop talking to me." She said as she sat up to leave the bed. I laughed harder as I pulled her back to lay down.
She started to wiggle to get up but I tickled her until she gave up. In the middle of her beautiful laughter, I pecked her lips and said, "Sorry. I won't laugh at you, again."
"Hmmph!" She said as she tried to hide her smile. "If you laugh, I'll punish you."
I smirked, "Oh! What kind of punishment?"
Janae looks away shyly, "I don't know yet."
Holding in my laughter at how cute she's being, I laid back down and snuggled her back towards me. "Okay, I promise."
"Good."
We laid there in comfortable silence as I started to play with her chubby small fingers again as I thought about the man who broke her heart earlier. How could he just let her go? Just like that! "Can I ask you something?"
She looks up at me and says, "Sure."
"How long have you known that guy earlier? The one in the park."
"Oh Sean?... " she sits up and stares straight ahead. I slide to the edge of the bed next to her. "Hmm. Sean and I dated each other from freshman year of high school until now. So like, 9 years. We were happy.... or so I thought."
I rubbed her back and said," I'm sorry. Maybe I shouldn't have brought it up."
She smiled up at me and said, "No it's okay. We just grew apart, I guess. I'm happy now."
"I'm glad to hear that. Everyone deserves to be happy." We hugged each other for a while. Then I stood up and said, "Let's get out of here." She placed her hand in mines and we walked to the front of the store where the attendant stood at the door.
The attendant smiled at us and said,"Did you find anything you like?"
I looked down at Janae and said, "Yes, I did." Not knowing I was staring for a long time, Janae looked up at me. I looked away and back to the attendant who was smiling from ear to ear. I cleared my throat and said,"thank you for all your help."
"You are quite welcome. Here's our business card with the bed item that you like in the back. If you ever decide you want to purchase, just give us a call."
Taking the card, I slightly bowed and said,"thank you."
Janae waved bye as we walked out the store. We both took a deep breath, exhaled, looked at each other and started to giggle.
She said, "So! Where to next?"
"Hmm... want to walk around the park some more?" I asked.
"Sure. Uber or subway?"

"Am I allowed to pay for your ride?"

"Sure, why not. Only if you let me hold your hand and buy you ice cream when we get to the park."

"You don't have to ask me to hold my hand." I say as I grabbed hers. " But the ice cream is a deal breaker."

She stood on her toes and pecked my lips, "tough luck! Let's go."

I laughed as we walked to the subway station. We talked about our dreams and goals throughout the whole ride on the train without letting each other hands go. I haven't felt this content since we won our first award. What does this mean?
As we got to the entrance of the park, my phone rang. Janae stopped walking and looked up at me expectantly. I dug in my pocket to pull my phone out to answer. "Hello?"

Hoseok answered, "Hyung. Where are you?"
"At the park, why?"
In the background I can hear Jimin saying, "Hyung probably still on his date."
This little brat!
"Date? Hyung, you met someone?" Hoseok said with laughter in his voice.

RM said, "maybe that's why he wasn't answering his phone earlier."
Jimin: "I wouldn't either! She's very pretty."
"You met her?!" Jin said surprised.
Jimin nodded, "yes. Tae and JK did too."
Hoseok,"Hyung! I want to meet her too!"
Ya! These brats!! "Uh, I don't think..."
RM took the phone from Hoseok, "hyung, where are you? We can pick you up and meet her at the same time."
"You guys can be so annoying. You know that right?" I said.
"Yea yea. So where are you?" RM said.

I sighed and told them where I was.
After hanging up the phone I turned towards Janae.
Janae smoothed the worry from my brow and said, "what's wrong?"
"My members are on their way to pick me up. I forgot about rehearsals tonight."
"So a rain check on the ice cream."
"I'm sorry." I said.
"Aww don't be..." she smiled and then her smiled disappeared. "WAIT! You said members... as in all of them?"
Shaking my head yes while looking at her," yes. Why?"
"Shit! I mean!!" She covers her mouth in surprise, then started checking her clothes and face.
I started laughing again until she popped me. "Oww!" Rubbing my arm where it slightly stung.
"Stop laughing at me! This is serious! How do I look? My hair isn't crazy looking is it? Oh my god my clothes are wrinkled."
I muffled my laughter and steadied her by her shoulders, "Stop worrying so much. You look beautiful."
She stopped fidgeting and stared up at me. Time stopped and it was just us two.... until I hear my idiot brothers making catcalls.

And so it begins....
