Getting To Know

Chapter 2

Newella

After school, I stayed for the student council meeting and said goodbye to my besties. I didn’t really know anyone in the auditorium, but I wanted to take the oppurtunity to get to know new people. I sat closer to the back aching with nerves; my hands began to get sweaty and I was ready to run out but I saw the boy from the hall. He was around a group of friends laughing and playing in the isles. They were all huddled up and talking when Diamond approached him and flipped her hair. Ugh, that girl knows how to get under a girls skin. Her laugh echoed in the room and sent chills through my body, so I stood to leave but a hand grabbed my arm. I spun around to see what grabbed at me and it was him. Oh gosh what is going on why is he touching me!

“ Hey, where you going, don’t you want to join the student council!” he said smiling at me.

“Uh, I thought about it and just decided that it’s not for me.”

For a while we stared at eachother, and at the corner of my eye I saw Diamond eyeing me viciously as he stood in front of me.

“Come on, I promise you’ll love being in this organization, plus I’m going to need a reason to butt out Princess Pea over there.” he laughed at himself and I ended up following as well.

He placed a hair behind my ear and slid his hand to link in mine and pull me towards his friends. We had a wonderful time talking and laughing, the teacher Mrs. Adams gave us a calender of all the days we stayed and a heads up on our first project, Homecoming.

When we were let out, it was around six, so I went to my locker to grab my bag. I put in my combination and swung open my locker to see a note glide down to the floor. I picked it up and opened it but it was blank.

“ I really didn’t know how to ask if I could walk you home, so I followed you to your locker.” I spun to see him scratching his head.

“Uh, sure, I don’t mind!” I shouted too quickly.

I turned red and covered my face, we just stood before eachother speechless until he grabbed my hand and walked towards the school door exit. What’s with this guy and grabbing my hand. Well I don’t mind but still. We walked across the football field hand in hand with no words between us. I let the wind flow through my hair and looked at the field to see Taylor cheering with her sqwad, she waved at me and flashed a thumbs up. I couldn’t help but smile even if I didn’t know what was happening, I didn’t even know his name!

“ Its Victor, ”

My eyes shot towards him, but his were glued to the ground. We walked in silence majority of the trip, laughing occasionally at the things we both came to say until we reached my house. A slim sigh came before me as I released my hand from his friendly hold. I didn’t want to go in, nor watch him leave me wondering and wanting to know more of him. His mystical ways drew me in like no other person has, it warmed my colden soul.

I was snapped out of thought when he took my hand and kissed it. His eyes gold like the ring of my mother’s marriage symbol, we said our goodbyes and parted ways. While walking up the stairs of my porch, I watched him walk along the sidewalk into the the woods across my way seperating my streets from others and fade away into the grey surrounding. My savior was gone.

Taylor

After school is time for leaving my friends and reporting to girl world. Well popular girl world. Don’t get me wrong, life is cool but cheerleading warms the inner me in a second. I went in the locker rooms and changed into my shorts,practice tee, and sports shoes while the other girls giggled over their day.

“O M G, today Hunter totaly winked at me in geometry!” Diamond said to her flock of flunkies.

For the time being of changing, she told her story of her and Hunter as the others listened to her every word.I slipped into one of the stalls and unwrapped the note from Trevor.
