The Dragon

Chapter 1: The Begining

There has always been dragons and there has always been humans. They used to lived in harmony for century's, until the war. The war was brutal. Both sides losing many loved ones.

The war began because the Dragons have a life essence that can be used for many things. Most dragons when dying use the last of there life essence to start the reincarnation cycle, but it can be used for other things as well.  The humans discovered the dragons life essence can be used to make a human immortal, or younger, or more powerful.  There greed led to the death of many.

The dragons are loving creatures to their very core. They hated having to kill the humans even in self-defense. And the humans were relentless in there hunt for dragons.  So instead of killing all the humans the remaining dragons decided to hide.

In the middle of the night they left taking whatever they needed and fleeing to the darkest corners of the world. And when the humans woke not one dragon could be found. And so the war ended as quickly as it started.  The next morning humans were left confused and the dragons cold and alone.

The great dragons of old struggled with hiding and the species started dying quickly. The dragons gathered together to come up with something, anything to save their race.

After many weeks of discussion a solution was presented.  The only way to save themselves had a very high price, but the dragons knew it was the only way.

So in the middle the night all the living dragons flew to the top of the highest mountain to cast the biggest spell anyone has every tried.

When the sun rose the next day two men and two women climbed down the mountain.  The rest of the mountain was eerily quiet.

The last remaining dragons used their life's Essence to give four dragons the ability to shift into humans. The fours offspring also also had there parents ability, but instead of being born a dragon they were born mostly human. When turned 18 they would have the ability to be both human and dragon.

Centuries passed, the Four's offspring multiplied and the dragon species was saved. Dragons are all over the world hidden from the humans that have forgotten they ever existed.
