7. The end

Jimin stared the phone in his hand as it kept on ringing, Jungkook's name flashing across the screen. Would he call it off? Saying he made a mistake and can't come to the barbecue this afternoon? Jimin sighed before letting his finger slide across the green circle, answering the phone.

''Hey'' he muttered, trying to be silent as he knew Taehyung and Namjoon were in the living room and the wall between them and his bedroom wasn't that thick.

''H-hey uhm.. hyung'' Jungkook stuttered, sounding a little bit breathless. ''Just say if you rather not have it but eh.. can I bring someone?''

Jimin's curiosity suddenly sky rocketed as the day prior to this one Jungkook had told him that he didn't necessarily had a lot of good friends. Jimin was about to answer when he suddenly heard the sound of someone pounding on a door, followed by a 'Jungkook! are you in there?!'. The younger screamed back that he was on the phone before turning his attention to Jimin again.

''I'm sorry but.. is it possible? You can say no! I really wouldn't mind because then I'll just come alone and''

''Kook-ah!'' Jimin heard the same voice from before say, "Don't try to ditch me I'm going to meet that boyfriend of yours! Oh dear lord my baby boy is growing up. Before you know it there a babies and pregnancies and-''

''He's not my!-''

Jimin didn't hear what was said next as the microphone of Jungkook's phone got covered by something, which, Jimin assumed, was probably the younger's hand. Jimin felt himself flush red as he heard the flustered tone the younger was speaking in as he told his hyung off, still hearing them bicker about something he could not really hear. After a while the hand got removed and the voice Jungkook was bickering with sounded faintly in the background, meaning that Jungkook had probably found another room to hide in.

''I'm really sorry hyung'' he sighed, sounding apologetic. ''I don't know what has gotten into his head he is just trying to embarrass me and I'd rather have you tell me no but I'm not sure that's going to hold him from crashing the party. He's a little eh... curious''

Jimin laughed out loud at that, trying to cover up his own embarrassment after being wrongly accused of being Jungkook's boyfriend. After recollecting his thoughts he told Jungkook that it was alright. His hyung could come if he wanted to check upon his dongseang, to which Jungkook defended that it wasn't like that, his hyung was just really curious.

The other dropped it after that in instead they started talking about Jungkook's upcoming shows en Jimin's upcoming exams and stuff like that. They got a little distracted until Namjoon screamed into his room that it was only one hour before the barbecue and Jimin knew that he still needed to prepare some things. They decided to end their call there, even though they didn't really want to.

To be honest, Jimin was nervous.

Yoongi, Taehyung and Namjoon hadn't really understood his decision on making Jungkook join them this afternoon but accepted it nonetheless. Though not without warning him of course and telling him that they would stab the idol and hide his body in a close by lake if he hurt Jimin one more time. And Jimin appreciated their concern; it just made him feel a little bit guilty. You see, he has been thinking, until he came to the conclusion that he isn't much better than most of Jungkook's fans.

Didn't he keep in contact with the younger because he kind of.... liked him? In a crush way and not only in a friendly way, even though the younger apparently had only wanted to get a new friend. Maybe it's also his own fault for searching Jungkook up last night and watching videos of the popstar dancing an doing variety shows. The thoughts that he had had, about Jungkook being maybe a little bit too sexy while dancing and maybe a little bit too cute while doing challenges, were written down in the comments by thousands of fangirls and boys. And even though Jimin knew that there could never form something between him and Jungkook, it still felt as if he was betraying the younger. He shouldn't want something out of him because everyone else already tried that.
