huang renjun, a perfect nobody. a voice sweet as candy and a personality bright as the sun. his mother told him "your personality, that is all that matters in this world. who cares how someone looks?"

but oh, how she was wrong. every person around renjun growing up, only cared about how he looked.

huang renjun learned to not care about people's opinions. his mother died of heart disease and his father was long gone. he ended up going to his aunt's home. he moved all the way to seoul, south korea.

when his hygiene began getting terrible, renjun's aunt would nag him about how terrible he looked. she said, "just look at you! every pore of yours, clogged! your hair is disgusting and greasy, and you smell terrible!"

renjun looked up at her, staring into her eyes. "you're just as bad as mom." and with that, he ran up to his room locking it.

renjun walked to the mirror in his bathroom and stared at his face.

huang renjun, a pathetic nobody. a voice nasty as a sickness and a personality as depressing as a storm. his mother once told him "your personality, that is all that matters in this world. who cares how someone looks?"

renjun gripped at his dirty hair, and spoke to himself; "everyone, mom."

(l/n) (y/n), a perfect somebody. a voice as soothing as honey and a personality as charming as a prince's. she was the perfect daughter, friend, and student.

almost everyone loved her. except one.

(y/n) hated the attention. she was two-faced. her mother left her to her father, who lived in seoul, south korea.

she hated her mother. she knew no one else in japan besides friends from school and a few neighbors. the flight to south korea, in her words; "sucked."

if (y/n) was being honest, she was happy to move. even to a new country.

"a chance to start fresh."

actually, (y/n) was overjoyed.

she looked around the airport and smiled. people smiling to each other, frowning, crying, laughing. just looking at one person, (y/n) could imagine what is happening to them. then her eyes landed on one person she never thought she would ever see again.

her father. he smiled at her. it was a kind smile, she could tell his eyes were tearing up. looking at him, her's did too. when (y/n) walked towards him, they hugged each other tightly. "i missed you."

being with him, she felt like she missed him too. but she didn't say she did because she knew it wasn't true. all she said was "hi."

her new house was a medium size and it didn't bother her at all.

"your room is the first door upstairs on the left," her father told him. she nodded, taking her two suitcases up the stairs without saying anything.

she threw her suitcases to a corner of her room. she took out her phone and unlocked it. she had no service and no wi-fi.

she held her phone in her head tightly like her life depended on holding it.

she approached her father with no emotion. he was working on something on his computer, he didn't notice her. (y/n) looked over his shoulder to read that it was something about a school.

'it's for me.'

she sighed, catching his attention. his eyes were wide when he turned to look at her. why were his eyes like that? is what he's doing that big?

she frowned at him. she shook it off and looked at her phone. she unlocked it and looked back at her father. "father, what's the password?"

he furrowed his eyebrows. he was confused, his daughter wasn't being clear at all. "what password?"

"the one for your wi-fi," (y/n) said, bluntly. she showed him her phone. she knew which one was his since it had his name in it. yes, there are probably a lot of people with the same name but it was the strongest one.

"oh, let me see your phone," he told her, holding out his hand. he expected her phone.

(y/n) looked at his hand, then at her phone. she brought it closer to her. her father sighed and took out a post-it note. he wrote the password down and gave it to her. she muttered a thank you then quickly left, back to her room.

she jumped onto her bed and typed in the password. she began to get blown up with messages. several of them asking how she was and if she made it safe to korea. she turned off her phone and set it next to her. she closed her eyes and exhaled. she would have to start school in a few days with people she didn't know. and plus, her korean was rusty. she barely remembers much words. she just wanted to sleep her life away, nothing is really worth it.
