Chapter 16:

Carlisle is at the hospital working his shift while I am at Port Angeles to go to a bookstore. As I am walking down the sidewalk to my car I see Aro leaning up against the passenger door.
"Hello Christina," Aro says walking towards me.
"What do you want Aro?" I ask.
"I want you to join me and the other Volturi members."
"I will never join you!"
"What if I did something to make you join us?"
"Leave my family alone!!"
Aro laughs. "Do you not want people to be afraid of you?"
"No!!"
Bella's car then pulls up and Irene gets out of the car. "Christina!!" She yells.
"Irene please stay there," I say.
"I smell a human," Aro says.
Aro starts to walk towards Irene. I jump on his back. "You leave my sister alone! You hear me!"
Aro pushes me off his back. Bella ran towards him but to only be pushed away like I was. Aro went to Irene and pushed her a long ways. She then hit a wall very hard.
Bella and I ran up to her. Her heart had stopped and she wasn't breathing.
"Bella I want you to take Irene back to the house and have Carlisle look at her," I say.
"What about you?" She asks.
I look to where Aro was but to find out that he wasn't there. "I will be there shortly."

I walk into the house and see everyone in the living room. Carlisle walks down the stairs and over to me.
"Is she going to be ok?" I ask.
Carlisle kisses me on my forehead. "I had to change her to keep her alive," he says.
