A letter from Anson to Gallagher, written 6 years into the 10 year war. Map included.
Gallagher, my friend:
I am afraid this isn't much of a birthday present. I have never been a skilled cartographer. Lynal once told me that you admired the world and wished to see more of it, so here it is: the known world.
It looks small, doesn't it? I find it exciting, and today, in celebration of you, I deliver that same excitement and a message of hope. The world we know in the trenches is so much smaller than the size this map will eventually be. I give this to you with the hope that you will find the borders of this map not as an end to things, but rather, as an invitation.
Despite what we have seen for the last six years, I believe that there is good in the world. It is on the other side of this map. Find it for me, will you?
May the Great LechtKai bless and sustain you, my dearest friend.
