We boarded the plane hours ago. The flight is over 12 hours long. It's been spent mostly sleeping. I havent done much of that recently.

"So Faye," my aunt said. She hasnt really talked with me all flight.

"Yes?" I mumbled.

"You'll be starting school tomorrow, but we will have to go in early to meet with your counselor," she said firmly.

"Mhm," I mumbled a reply.

"Also, tonight we are going shopping. It is a public school and not to be rude sweety, but those rags wont work," she said softly.

I looked at her blankly and nodded not really caring. I'll let her pick out the clothes. I did just intrude on her life. My aunt and I are only a 8 years a part. My Grandmama adopted her when my mum was 17 also pregnant with me.

Laurie stopped talking so I plugged in my earbuds and fell back asleep.

I woke up to loud talking and Laurie packing up her things.

"We land in five, I texted Jonah he is already at the airport," she said. Jonah being her boyfriend. Laurie is 25 and Jonah is 28. They've been together for 4 years.

The plane lands and we get off. I stick close to Luarie as she heads towards a tall brown haired man. Who I'm assuming must be Jonah.

"Hi, Faye, I'm Jonah," he stuck out a hand. A big grin across his face.

I reached his hand a shook it. Giving a nod of acknowledgment.

He took his hand back awkwardly. Probably due to my coldness. I didnt know the guy give me time. We walk over to grab our luggage and to leave.

"Porter has the car. His bike broke down and his mom had to take their car for a work emergency. He had some emergency in the gallery so I let the poor boy use it. The taxi is out front waiting," he said to Luarie.

Who is this Porter. They must trust this kid a lot to let him have the car. I was still a bit weary of cars though. Ever since what happened.

We get in and I immediately stiffen. My grip tightens around the door handle. Laurie seems to notice and tells me to breathe and that we are fine.

It's only a 25 minute drive to the house. Throughout the whole ride Jonah asks me questions about what I like and stuff. To which I reply as vaguely as possible. I'm not ready to open up. I dont like talking.

We get to the house it's big with a wide porch and a huge yard with a pool in the back. It's a lot for two young people. Jonah takes my stuff and leads me to my new room.

It's gray. Not much to it. A bed, a desk, a huge walk in closet, and a personal bath. Not bad. Not bad at all. I like it.

"I'll let you get settled in, we ordered Chinese and Porter will be over with his mother to eat with us. They can't wait to meet you!" He exclaimed loudly.

Who is porter?

I start unpacking and 15 minutes later I hear a knock at the door greetings and Luarie yelling my name. I brush my hair back a bit and take a deep breathe. It's to much all these people at once. All this change at once.
