~Funneh P.O.V~ I was 5 when dad died and my stepmother didn't care about him or me. My real mom past away when I was two my dad remarried to the worst person in the world. She never feed me she only talk on the phone to her boyfriends or the lawyer who is one of her boyfriends. I always go out and walk the streets to find free food from nice people lucky in Canada there are a lot. I was sitting by the front door of my house it was a cold day I couldn't ever leave the house unless one of her boyfriends came over. I waited till she left the house to leave I grabbed one of my dad's old coats and my mom's old hats and went outside and went to the store. "Hey you holding up fine." Grayson asked. "I'm trying." Tears rolled down my face. "You're brave for 5 year old you doing fine on your two feet." He said gave me food I thanked him and left to the ally way where I always went to eat. A small white puppy came out of a box I named him Peppermint he always came out when I was there in ally way. I gave him half of my food like always I started to cry for awhile and then fell asleep. I woke up to snow falling to the ground and the sun going down I closed my eyes again. I heard a little boy and a man talking and their voice came closer. "Yea I'm tired." The boy said. "We're almost home Alec." I didn't want to move I was scared. "Who is she." The boy asked the man his voice was coming from right in front of me. I heard Peppermint bark at the boy. "I don't know I'll carry her can you carry the dog." The man asked. "Yea sure." I just fell asleep again I woke up on a bed in a room in different clothes with the coat and hat next to me. I climbed off the bed and looked around and someone opened the door. "Hey sweetie you okay." A lady asked... {13 years later} I was walking home from school with Alec,Gold and Kyran we went to Alec's house and his home greeted us. "Hey mom." Alec said and me and Gold went upstairs. "So you and Alec dating yet." She asked and fell on my bed. "No we're just friends." I said Alec always came by school to walk me home him and his dad found me in the ally way 13 years ago and I'm thankful I owe this family my life. Alec and me are best friends I helped him though break ups and he helped me with lots of stuff he's a year older than me. "So he's till a virgin and still never had his first kiss after 5 girlfriends." Gold asked. "Yea He said he's waiting for a special girl." I said and felt someone's hands on my shoulders. "Maybe He means you." Gold whispered in my ears. "No he doesn't like me." I pushed her off of me a turned around. "Maybe you and Kyran could...." She punched me in the shoulder. "Hey my mom said we need to take Peppermint on a walk." Alec said. "Fine." I left my room and grabbed Peppermint we kept him because he was the only family I had before Alec found me. We left to go to the park and Alec's ex-girlfriend was there with a guy on Alec knew she was cheating with. She looked our. "What are you doing?" She asked and the guy following behind her. "Minding our own business." Alec said and Peppermint bit her foot. "Ow what's wrong with you stupid dog." She yelled. "He's smarter than you." I said and walked away
