Elaina POV

I lay in bed next to Sophie, my face smashed into the pillow contemplating, daydreaming. She was probably on her phone, I didn't bother look.
Sophie was my neighbour when we were seven, we've become the closest of friends to the point that we've deemed each other essentially sisters.
I had just finished school and had somehow managed to convince our parents to let us go do a tour of Europe by train over summer. We were currently in Italy in a little beach town. We didn't really have any plans for anything just drifting at ease around Europe for three months. It was currently mid-june so we had plenty of time left.

I looked at my phone and realised it was almost midday, so I turned to her and smirked, she knew what I was thinking but before she could react I shoved her off the queen sized bed we were sharing. She hit  the floor with a thud, groaning she exclaimed, 'El, I swear to god one of these days I will drown you in a box of acid'.

'Honey, I already know you love me'

She made a face and stormed off into the bathroom to get changed into her swimsuit.

---

When we finally climbed out of the sea it was already seven in the evening and the sun was setting, we laid down on our extra towels in the sand and layed down to dry off.

Sophie started playing some music from her speaker and as I wiggled my feet to the beat I looked up at the sky and pondered. Nothing important really, just silly things but soon my mind wondered to a recent memory. My dad had called me recently, the memory made me smile because it was the first phone call from him that was actually pleasant, it had caught me so incredibly off guard that evening I couldn't stop jumping about until I felt asleep.

I was jolted out of my memory when Sophie suddenly nudged me, 'whaaat?' I huffed.

She motioned with her head, I followed the direction and noticed  she had found me a new view. We smiled at each other knowingly and sat up to not at all subtly enjoy the display.

There were a dozen or so guys playing a version of volleyball in the water. The sun painting their lavish bodies as the jumped around and splashed, laughing at each other. I smiled rejoicing in the wonder that is the male body. The wide shoulders, the confidence, the dishoveled wet hair but most of all I was appreciative of the way their muscles moved with every step, every throw of the ball, every movement had me entranced. The definition of eye candy.

Every girl knows it, some hide it, some don't but something, something about guys that's just like .. yes. Except if your lesbian I guess.. dunno. But on this trip sex just seemed like a must have.

One of the guys got hit in the face with the ball and I accidentally laughed loudly. Thankfully only one turned around, he noticed my embarrassment as we made eye contact and winked at me.

It's like a game of mutual fishing, meaning we're both fish with a fishing rod each.

But often suggestive looks was all it ever would be because no one had the guts to actually talk to the person. My excuse was I always initated
this sort of thing and I was tired of spineless guys. I wanted a guy who had the balls to approach me or I wouldn't waste my time. Well, if I'm desperate I'd probably go for it but I could wait for now.

The guy who had turned around kept making eye contact with me, I wiggled by eyebrows at him, he raised one of his, I looked jokingly unamused at him, he made a puppy dog face, I laughed, he laughed.
That was it.
Soon he and his friends left, no words were ever exchanged. Pathetic.

I glanced at Sophie and decided, 'You know what I need tonight,-'
She interrupted me, 'dick'. I rolled my eyes, 'nah, Soph, let's let our hair down tonight and have one those nights, girls night out, no guys, just us and whatever stupid crap we do'.
