My heart is beating faster than it ever has before, my fingers wrapped tightly round my asthma pump. I slowly inhale the air and keep running. My brand new black DMs are sliding across the polished floor. I swear someone calls my name. I turn. I slip. I fall. I'm trapped. The pain is so extreme I can't feel it. My heads spinning and I'm loosing control. I can smell the fumes and hear the clicks of the tracks in sync all around me.

The gentle buzzing of the monitors like a honey bee set for a flower, echoes in the distance. I can feel the warm breath on my cheek and the faint smell of smoke. From this, I know my dad's perched next to me. Although everything's pitch black to me, I can sence that sooner or later I will have a rash from the scratchy hospital pijamas they have smothered me in. My eyelids feel like they have been superglued down, forced shut, never to see daylight again.
