Chapter 5

{ Grace's P.O.V }

Wow. An's mom is being really grumpy today. I don't know what has gotten in to her. She's not usually like this. Oh well... Hey! That's Connor's car! Awh! How cute! Well, we better go get ready and go saddle up our horses. Big tracks today, and world famous judges. OKAY! I'm ready.... I think, yes. An and I head toward the performers shed. We get our jerseys and our numbers. Then we head to get our horses ready. On the way to the barn, we have to pass by the crowd, the BIG crowd. But I manage to see An's mom and Connor sitting together, they're talking but I don't think she is enjoying herself. Oh well... Let's go. About an hour rolls by and it's time for the show. A few people are ahead of us but it's our turn soon enough. An goes before me and does really good!

{ Anabella's P.O.V }

I think I'm doing pretty good. I look over to my mom and Connor but my mom doesn't seem happy... I got distracted buy her and I guess I was infront of a jump. Moonlight, my horse, got scared and booted my off. Before I hit the ground, I hear the crowd gasp. I hit the ground really hard and black out. After what felt like five minutes, I wake up in a hospital bed, with many needles in my arms. I have a huge headache. I turn towards the window, and see a beautiful face! Connor. Awe.

"Hey! Are you okay?" he says almost whispering.

"Yeah. I think." I say uncertain.

"Hey, now that you're awake, I think I should tell you something." he said cupping his face with his hands. He looked stressed.

"Yeah, what is it?" I can't think of anything else to say.

"Anabella Rose Lacey, I can't stop thinking about you, Bella..."

The doctors come rushing in. They tell me it's gonna be okay, but I don't even know what's going on. In a few seconds, I get really woozy. I feel like I'm dying. They didn't even do anything. I look at Con, he's crying with a doctor by his side. Then my vision gets blurry. I have no idea what's going on with me. Is this my last day? Am I dying? What's happening? I look around, everything blurry, I see millions of doctors running around, and my family, crying. My mom and Con hugging? I don't... I don't... Know? I-I-I...

I wake up, in a different room. A, weirder one. I'm not even sure I'm in the hospital anymore. The walls, aqua, and camo. Everything I like. Is this my room? No... I then overhear my mom talking with someone. a doctor?

"-the operation will cost 3,000 dollars. And it would have to be preformed in a month or two from now. But it might not even help. It's a very rare case. We've never seen this before. I'm sorry." the man said. I hear my mom yelling in sadness. What does this even mean? Operation? I try to get my mom's attention, but can't quite speak. What?

"Mum? -I cough- Mum?" I try to say loud enough for her to hear. But knowing her, she's dead. Great! I look around for something to get her attention. Where's my cell? Table. k. I grab it and dial my mom's number. I hear her phone ring, she doesn't pick up but runs right in. She explains what happened. When I fell off Moonlight, I hit my back really hard. I broke three different parts of my lower spine. The operation is to make me able to walk again. I was paralyzed. My whole lower body, paralyzed. I broke down in tears. Then stopped. I asked her why I passed out at the hospital, and why the doctors came running in. She told me that I had an opening in my skull, and that sand has gotten in. I feel my head and feel the scar. I had already been operated. Ouch. I look at her. simply just looking in her eyes. She nods. "He's on his way. He couldn't come on the helicopter with us. Grace, your father, sisters and brother are also coming." She then said. I look around, she tells me we're in Australia. The only hospital for paralyzed kids. (guys idk k im making this up) I close my eyes to let it sink in. I open my eyes wide and realized, TROYE SIVAN LIVES HERE!!!!! But Australia is also huge, so we might not be in the same place. I get a text from Connor:

-We have WiFi on this plane. A few more hours and we're here. are you okay?

- Im fine... just paralyzed. awesome right?

-omg no! are you serious?!

-Yep. My lower body is paralyzed

-awe:( but i have a surprise for when i get here ;)

-What is it!!!!1!!

-it wouldnt be much of a surprise if i told you now would it? ;)

- fine. but it better be good.

- oh yeah! ull love me after this! wyd?

We texted until he got here. He said it's gonna take a while for him to get the surprise so he said I should get some sleep. I had a total for 2 hours and 38 minuts of seep. I woke up to the sweet sound of Happy Little Pill. I must of kept it on before falling asleep. But wait, I don't have my headphones in... I look up to see.... TROYE SIVAN IN MY ROOM SINGING TO ME OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!1!!!

"Here's your surprise! Like it?" I hear Con say.

"AAAAAH I LOVE IT!!!!" I say a little louder than I wanted it to be. Doctors come rushing in thinking something went wrong. They're all asking me if I'm okay without letting me answer. "I'M FINE!" I end up yelling. I see Connor, Grace and Troye giggling in the corner of the room. Ha Ha Ha. Very funny. The doctors leave all pissed off. lol. Me, Grace, Con and Troye hangout all night! They ended up sleeping over lol. I had an extra bed and a couch in my room. Troye took the couch, Grace took the bed and Con and I just cuddled all night. My family had a hotel room they stayed in. Thank god!
