Spring break was over as quick as it had began. Dempsey and Tatum were back to school. Dempsey was sad to see it end. The week had given him and Tatum a chance to get to know each other on a different level. He walked into the building promising himself that he was going to be there for her more at school. He was on his way to Tatum's locker to check on her and baby no name. He was going to have to get Tatum to sit down and decide on a name soon. He just couldn't handle his son not having a name when they now knew the gender.
Dempsey got to Tatum's locker just in time to see the basketball captain bump into her hard enough to send her falling. He laughed and said, "Sorry tubbers. Maybe you should put a wide load sign on that thing."
Dempsey rushed over to her. He was fuming. He told him, "Watch where you are going, scumbag. She's pregnant." He hadn't realized what he had said until he saw all eyes in the hallway on them.
It was that moment that the whole school found out what Tatum had been trying so hard to hide. She knew it would happen eventually, but she didn't see it happening like this.
Dempsey helped her to her feet. He asked, "Are you okay? Is the baby okay?"
Tatum told him, "I'm fine. My butt is sore and I'm dizzy, but I'll be alright. He won't stop moving."
Tatum swayed in his arms. "I'm taking you to the nurse."
"D, I'm good, I promise."
"I just want to make sure. Let's go. Humor your husband, please."
Dempsey walked her to the nurse. The nurse asked, "How can I help the two of you?"
"She fell in the hall. She is dizzy. She is also pregnant."
"I think you should go home and rest. Stay off your feet. If you feel any kind of cramping or discomfort got to the hospital to be checked out."
Dempsey said, "I'll get our things together and I'll take you home. We'll chill on the couch and keep an eye on you and little man."
Scott and Sophie came rushing to the door. Sophie asked, "What happened?"
Tatum sighed. "I'm fine. Dempsey is over reacting. I fell in the hallway."
Dempsey practically growled, "You were pushed. It was hard. I was worried about you and baby no name."
Scott asked, "Who was it?"
"It was the basketball captain."
"He's dead. I'm not going to stand back and let him do anything that may hurt you or my nephew."
Tatum told him, "We're fine! The baby has not stopped moving, so I know he is doing okay in here. I'm going to go home and rest. I'll prop my feet up and make Dempsey bring me whatever I wan since he told everyone I'm pregnant."
Sophie said, "It was going to have to happen sometime. You were able to hide it for a pretty good while. Go home and take a nap. I'll stop by and see you later. Take care of my nephew."
Dempsey helped Tatum to her feet. He went and got their books. Then the two of them headed out to their apartment.
Tatum was curled up on the couch. Dempsey sat next to her and asked, "Can I get you anything?"
"No. I'm good. Thank you."
"Since we have the afternoon, what if we start looking into names for baby no name. I think it's time that he finds his name."
Tatum smiled. "Yes! Our boy needs a name. Something unique."
Dempsey pulled up a list of unique boy names on his phone. "Harrison?"
"No."
"Evan?"
"Too common. I think there are three in my graduating class. He needs something different."
"Jack?"
"Wasn't that the liquor I had at the party that led to his creation? No way!"
Dempsey chuckled. "Oakley?"
"Oakley. I like it!"
"For his middle name I think it should be Jameson."
"Really?"
"Yeah. It flows and your family has been amazing. I think it would do him some good to have them to look up to. What better way than naming him after all of them."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes!"
"D, you are going to be a great dad."
"You are going to be the best mom."
"What are we going to do this fall? I have a year left of high school. You will have classes. There is going to be a baby."
"We'll figure it out. It's going to be okay. Don't stress."
Tatum took Dempsey's hand. SHe put it on her stomach and said, "I think Oakley likes his name. Plus he wants to show his dad that he can stop worrying about him. He has been so active today."
"Man. Ease up, Oak. Give your momma a break."
"I don't mind his moving. I love knowing that he is okay in there. It's comforting to know that he is still protected from the evils of the world while he is in here."
"The next two and a half months are going to be hard. I want to move you into my locker."
"But..."
"No buts. I want you close. I want to be able to check on you and Oakley throughout the day."
"D..."
Dempsey took Tatum's face in his hands and kissed her. Their first real kiss.
Dempsey told her, "I know that it seems like our life is a mess, but it would mean a lot if you would give me a chance."
"I...Uh...Really?"
Dempsey chuckled. "Yes. Will you give me the chance to treat you right? Maybe date me?"
"We're married. I think it is a little past dating."
"Yes, but we didn't get to do the dating thing first. It was thrown at us."
"We don't need to. I'm just happy you are here for Oakley and I."
"Can I kiss you whenever I want now?"
Tatum blushed. "I think I can handle that."
"I"m not going to push you to do anything you aren't ready for."
"I'm all for the kissing. I just don't know if I am ready for sharing a bed and that stuff yet. I need a little more time."
"That's fine. My door is always open."
"Tatum smiled and snuggled into his side. She was sure she was going to love dating her husband.
