(DAYU)

"You found nannies for the twins?" Captain Wang looked at me in surprise while we are surveying a cart behind a horse was being readied for the two women who will be the twins' nannies.

"Yes," I simply nodded. "You don't have to worry, I will supervise them..."

"Oh, I am not worrying, it's just...having two women traveling with us will delay our journey back to the Capital." Captain Wang pointed out. "I thought you are eager to see the twins again..."

"Yes," I nodded again. "That is why I asked two male helpers here in the vacation house to accompany the twins' nannies when they journey to the Capital next week..."

"Next week?" Captain Wang gave me another surprised look. "They will not accompany us in today's travel?"

"No," I shook my head. "I want to hurry and get back to the twins. So I say let's go, Captain. The day is wasting..." I reined in my horse and spurred it to move.

Captain Wang had no choice but to follow me.

We travelled throughout the day, stopping briefly from time to time and when it got dark, we looked for another small inn where we can sleep and rest. Then the next day, we started our journey back home again at the break of dawn.

With our steady pace, by early afternoon we got to the Capital. We entered the Wang Estate just as the sun is starting it's slow descend to the West.

"Father! Father!"

I smiled as I unmount from my horse to see Dao running out of the house to welcome us. My smile widened further when I saw who is running after him, our daughter Hua.

"Father!" I crouched low to scoop Dao in my arms. "I miss you," Dao said before kissing my cheek. Then he struggled to get down to run to his Baba.

I let Dao go to pick Hua up. She gave me a shy smile before kissing my cheek as well. "Don't go away again, Father. Just stay here..." she softly said before looking down and hugging my neck to hide her face. My heart ache for her.

"I will never leave you again. Promise," I hugged her. I saw Mei standing by the entrance of our home, smiling at me. I smiled and wave at my cousin as Captain Wang stood by my side with Dao in his arms.

..........................

"Did an accident occur while we were gone, Mei?" I asked my cousin as I arranged the cover on Hua's shoulder. My daughter finally fell asleep after I sang two lullabies for her.

"Once," Mei said. "That first night you were gone. Dao was restless and Hua even cried before going to bed. Maybe she was scared that's why she wet her sheets that night."

"My poor love," I patted Hua's covered thigh in rhythym.

"They are both depending on you, Dayu. In just a short time, you became vital to them. Especially to Hua..." Mei said in observation.

"How about her lungs? Did she had problem in breathing while I was gone?" I look at my cousin.

"No," Mei shook his head.

I felt relief at his reply, "That is good then. Her lungs are really improving."

"Yes. But what did you do with Captain Wang? Why did you have to go to their vacation house in HuBei?"

I took moments to think before I answered. In the end, I decided to trust my cousin. "I married him in HuBei," I said.

I felt my cousin going still, "Dayu ah, that's illegal..."
