A door burst open to the outside. It was pushed open with such fierce energy. That energy, that arm, actually, was fueled by excitement and happiness. The girl that pushed it open was the first one out the door, followed by two others.
The first girl out the door was about average height. Her hair was long, falling to the center of her back. It was as brown as an oak tree's bark. Her skin was slightly tanned, but not much. She had freckles scattered on her face around her nose, but none on it. Her eyes were a dark green, like leaves forever stuck under a shadow. They darted back and forth, excited for some reason. She wore a wrinkly, red-gray shirt. The sleeves fell to right below her elbow, revealing most of her forearm. Her palms and the back of her hands were wrapped in dirty white bandages. They didn't seem to be for injury, but it wouldn't surprise anyone if they were. She wore light navy jeans that had a jagged cutoff above her ankles. It was likely that she cut them herself. The cutoff revealed the tops of her light brown shoes. They were worn down and dirt-covered, so they looked a darker shade of brown than they actually were.
The second girl out the door was around the first girl's height, but she had lighter skin. Her hair was in a messy bun with several strands of hair free from it and dangling down. It was a combination of dark orange and brown. Her light brown eyes were sparkling with the same excitement in the first girl's eyes. She wore a dark brown tank-top underneath a dark gray shawl. Why she didn't just wear a long-sleeve shirt to begin with was always beyond everyone. It also escaped everyone's knowledge why she wore light blue shorts, as well. To contrast that even more, she wore white boots that rose to the middle of her legs. She also had a light blue bandanna wrapped around her wrist.
The last girl was slightly taller than the other two, but looked a little younger. Her hair was dirty blonde and fell to right above her waistline. Her eyes were a deep blue and didn't shimmer with the same excitement as the others'. She wore a dark green shirt and navy leggings. her shoes were black with white accent. She wore gloves so dark brown, they were nearly black. She spoke to the other two with a gentle voice that was laced with worry. "Are you really sure about this?" she asked.
The first one out the door merely glanced behind her as they bolted towards an empty clearing full of grass. "Oh, come on!" she cheered. Her voice was loud, or at least louder than the other one. It was slightly lower pitched, but still sounded feminine enough to be identified as a girl's voice. "What's the worst that can happen? This place is enchanted so that it can't be burned down, at least not by our powers. Besides, if anything too bad happens, you can just use your water!"
The one that spoke first slowed her pace a little bit and gave an annoyed half-tilt of her head. "What if the bad thing isn't fire related?" she proposed.
"Then we take her into the Hospital Wing," answered the middle friend. Her voice was a little deeper than the first friend, but not much.
"And what would we tell them happened, exactly?"
The friend that took the lead groaned loudly. "You're worrying too much, Livy!" she said. "And if it even comes to that, we'll just say some accident outside!"
"An accident that just so happened to involve water, earth, and fire? Coming from a user of Pyrokinesis, Aquakinesis, and Geokinesis? They're not stupid, Kira."
Kira stopped walking as they reached the empty, grassy area. She turned around and shrugged at the same time. The other friend walked to her side and they watched Livy slowly walk to them.
When they all congregated into one spot, Kira smiled widely. "Y'all remember the order, right?" she asked. Before either of them responding, she reminded them anyways. "First Mariela, then Livy, and then me! Ready?"
Mariela nodded with an excited smirk. Livy slowly nodded her head, but glanced to Mariela with worried eyes. They were like dark pools glazed with worry. Mariela returned an excited face, rather than sharing her concern.
Kira gave two thumbs up and backed up a few steps before turning around. She took a deep breath before she started running. She ran a few feet then jumped. In time with her jump, Mariela raised both of her hands. A large rock protruded from the ground under Kira's feet, propelling her upward.
Kira pushed off of the rock with her legs, continuing to move forward while rising. As she leaped a few feet from the rock, she began to descend. Livy quickly raised one hand, making a spout of water form and erupt. There was no evidence of the ground breaking; it just was created. The spout pushed Kira upwards again. This time, Kira leaned forward so she was flipped. Her head was facing the ground as she rose and began to fall again.
As Kira began to plummet, she extended both her hands. She focused, and fire shot from her palms. It fired in a straight blast, like two small flamethrowers. The flames hit the ground hard, and Kira did not stop. She only kept falling towards where the flamethrowers were aimed. She closed her eyes tightly and began to think that, once again, they had failed. She prepared for impact, but instead of feeling the ground, she felt herself going back upwards. She stopped shooting flames as she twisted and tried to rotate herself to land on her feet. She couldn't quite get the angles right, but Livy was one step ahead. She had created another spout that Kira landed on, slowly lowering her close enough to the ground to be dropped with no injuries.
Once she was on the ground, Kira smiled widely and raised her fist in the air. "We finally did it!" she shouted with glee. Mariela came running over and helped her up, following with a complicated series of high fives. Livy came over and let out a relieved sigh.
"That was almost catastrophic," she said.
Kira shrugged again. "But it wasn't."
Livy smiled and held out her fist. Kira and Mariela were happy to see she finally was cheering up since Kira said she was going to try again today. They smiled widely and fist bumped her.
They then preceded to sit down in the shade of a large tree nearby. Kira was sitting cross-legged in the grass. Mariela was leaning against the tree, one leg up and the other one laying on the grass. Livy was sitting with her knees to her chest. They talked excitedly about various topics for a long time.
They were interrupted by a voice. They all stared in the direction of the door they exited the large building from.
"What are you three doing, this time?"

//Author's Notes//
Hello, everyone! (Or, at least the 2-3 people that read the previous part, lmao.) So, here's the second part, introducing two new characters! I'm not going to really say too much here, since if I explain anything its going to spoil at least the next chapter lol.
I guess, since this chapter was around 1,200 words, the prologue wasn't so small. I literally didn't even know I was writing that much. I was just finishing up a paragraph and suddenly: "912 words" and I was like: "Oh. Cool."
Well, I guess that's all I have for right now. If you haven't already, check out my other story The Dark Hours: A Warriors Story. Since I have both the prologue and Chapter 1 done of that story as well as this one, I'm going to alternate writing them! If I don't get distracted, at least.
Until next time! Sayonara!
