It was a large tall scraper which had the inscription SBS,probably the tallest in the city. The irresistible scent from the garden plus the combined style of modernism made it look attractive. She saw how reporters trooped in and out of the building causing a tint of smile on her face. This is what she wanted, who she wants to be. She paced slowly into the building trying best to hold back her nervousness and not show it like the others did, obviously newbies too. Her fair skin shone brighter and her brown hair looked stylish enough. Her brown coat wasn't enough for her, buttoning it to the chin she still felt drastic cold storming her body. They were directed to a large office, some sort of like a hall.
Sitting down to her comfort, she felt undue excitement within her. She was going to meet the popular Barker Marx. She bit her lower lips softly and her smile just couldn't hold forth. She knew luck came through for her;being employed in one of the biggest broadcasting station in south Korea. No doubt, her qualification from Harvard was the major breakthrough.
"You seem excited". The man by her side jerked her from her dreamworld. She turned to him oblivious of his presence. She gave a questioning look with a little smile." Your smiles". He answered.
"You've been watching me?" She focused her eyes somewhere else. He shifted closer to get a better scent.
"Well yes!" He laughed."you got my attention and I have to admit, it's beautiful."
"Oh.....thanks" she smiled briefly
"You don't have to stop". He gazed at her. What is wrong with this English men!,of course she couldn't say that. By his physic one could know. He made her nervous like he was boring holes in her. She felt totally uncomfortable and would love to change to another sit." Oh....where are my manners. I'm Lawrence "he smiled offering a shake.
"Christine" she responded showing no signs for interaction.
"I'm sorry,I think I've offended you" he spoke softly closing his hand slowly.
"Not in the mood for a chitchat." She replied
"A while ago you were full of smiles but now you are cold. I guess am boring"
"Oh no!" She gazed at him with a little smile. She wanted to say more but lost focus as her eyes were fixed on the one and only Barker who entered. She grinned uncontrollably forgetting Lawrence presence.
Barker glanced at them with a stern face. He cleared his throat before speaking. He had to be cautious of what to say for he disliked bad commentary. "Good day everyone" he paused seeing tension on their faces. Were they scared of him or what?."I'm Mr.Barker Marx and welcome to Seoul broadcasting station."he smiled to ease their tensed faces."And now I would like to hear your respective names before I proceed"
A black blazer suit which struck perfectly to his ebony skin,a nice pair of shoes and a gold wristwatch to crown it all. Not a bad match, she thought."Miss!". Barker raised his voice." You seem lost. Your name". All eyes were on her now and her words failed her. She clenched her hands trying to force a word. Barker walked towards her."your name?". Standing tall in front of her it became worse."Christine........"she finally voiced out glaring at him.
