Chapter One.
Time moved slowly as the brown eye boy focused ever more attention on the clock hands feeling his pulse jump with each moment of the seconds hands movement. He tussled his dirty blonde hair waiting for that last min to finally end its agonizing rotation. Class dismissed have a great summer he heard Mrs.Sanderson finally say. Oh Devin before you go she added. Devin heart dropped as he grew more impatient to leave he knew his dad would be waiting with that cheesy almost fake looking grin to whisk him away to his house to finish packing they were off to Disney land and taking route Sixty six all the way down from their home in Chicago. What could this teacher possible want he began to almost scream in his overly excited head. Here she said handing him a cell phone she confiscated for watch netflix in class months prior. You parents never came to pick it up she said. Don't watch too much netflix this summer Devin. With that the boy was off in a flash. Past his friends the lockers and on his way to the front door. Oh what joy his little heart and brain was thinking so wildly about mice and castles he almost. Could be forgiven for bumping straight into and almost knocking over Ned Finlker the schools well known and nasty tempered bully.
Hey watch where you are going you cuss. Then in a blur a giant fist was briefly seen before complete blackness took over. Devin slowly awakened in the back seat of his fathers car. There you are killer must of took one hella spill in the hallways. Guess you know why they tell you not to run in the halls now huh? His fathers words awoke him further.
Oh yea I guess? He lied. Knowing that the tormentor of Ellis Middle school was truly the culprit. So mom has your suitcase packed. Just gotta swing by and pick her up then off we go. Finally he thought to himself summer can finally begin.
The trip was boring at first with no noteworthy things mainly cause he had seen the sears tower only every year he had been in school. One year he had to go twice. He was deep in thought and a giant headache was not helping his thoughts to be clear. He wished he was big enough to show that trucker. Unfortunately Devin was of a scrawny build he could hold a 12pk of sodas for you or even try to move a couch but body builder, athlete he was not. Nor was he scrawny or overly fat he was very average in most ways. For a moment he wondered why he described himself in his own thoughts. It would be much later that he would truly understand why. Ugh! He exclaimed as if to attempt to interrupt his own train of thought...Are we almost there? Well Devin his mom chirped in her overly fake sweet nature. Its quiet a drive we might need to stay at a motel rest up and leave in the morning. Oh Devin sighed disgusted that it would be longer until he made it to the Happiest place on earth. The darkness enveloped the vehicle as the sun lowered in the sky soon the passing billboards that had kept his mind busy were out of sight. Soon the lad would fall blissfully asleep. He wouldnt even notice when his dad picked him up and placed him in the motel bed.
