Marvin sighed as he wiped the coffee cake crumbs off the last table in the small café, Minnie's, he had been working at for the past 6 months. It was a boring job, but it paid well.
He looked out the window and smiled at the busy streets bustling with people. More people meant more customers, which meant more tips. He turned on his heel to face the front counter and threw the rag he had been previously using to clean over his shoulder. As he began his short walk to the back room, he heard the ding of the bell which meant a customer had walked in.
“Hello, welcome to Minnie's! How can I-” Marvin began his sentence, but was so awestruck that he just simply could not finish it. Before him stood a man, but not just any man. No, this was simply put the most dashing, handsome, most beautiful man he had ever seen. His chiseled face, his lightly pushed back brown hair, his brilliant, almost glowing, chocolate brown eyes. His toned body made Marvin squeal internally. His sense of style that fit his beautiful body perfectly. Marvin's eyes lingered on the man's own. He was so focused on the man's handsome face that it startled him when he spoke up.
“Hello, I'm here for the job interview. Could you direct me to where I need to go, please?” The man spoke. His voice was raspy, but to Marvin is was smooth and lovely, it was like a light melody gracefully caressing his ears. Then, the man did something that had shook Marvin to his core. He smiled. To Marvin, his smile was brighter than the sun. The smile that tugged at the corners of his mouth had instantly turned Marvin’s insides to mush, his heart especially. Marvin mentally slapped himself and he snapped out of his handsome-man-induced trance.
“So you're the one who called this morning. Uh, yeah, follow me.” He plainly responded. The man nodded and took his first few steps forward since he had entered. He followed Marvin to the backroom and got himself positioned into the seat Marvin had directed him to. Marvin sat across the main manager's desk from him and smiled lightly at him.
“So, before the interview even starts, can you remind me of your name?” Marvin asked, getting out his small clipboard and his favorite pen. As he awaited an answer, he took a few milliseconds, a.k.a what felt like years to Marvin, to simply take in the man's aesthetically pleasing features. His chocolate brown eyes seemed like they could just hypnotize him. Although, would Marvin really mind? And he admired how kissable the man’s soft, yet chapped lips looked. He sighed. If only he could kiss those beautiful-
“Whizzer Brown.” His thoughts were interrupted by Whizzer speaking aloud his blessed name. Marvin could feel a smile plaster onto his face. As he smiled, Whizzer smiled back, this time with his teeth showing. That damned smile. If Whizzer ended up getting the job, that smile would end up getting Marvin in a lot of trouble one day.
“So, Whizzer, what made you want to get a job at Minnie's? We're quite a small attraction.” Marvin set his chin on his hand, staring into those eyes of Whizzer's.
"Well, I recently moved into a brand new apartment downtown, and I decided that it would be a good idea to maybe get a quick bite to eat before I started unpacking, so I decided to ask a local where the best place to eat was, and he very happily replied that Minnie's had the best coffee cakes, so I came down here and got one. And then I heard from the woman that served me that you were hiring, so I decided to try applying!" Whizzer replied all in one breath, something that asthmatic Marvin could never do.
"Well, that's a lot to take in!" Marvin chuckled, quickly writing something down on his clipboard. He began clicking the pen anxiously as he asked his next question. "Do you have any previous experience in the food industry?" He asked, leaning back in his chair. He brought his legs up on the chair so he could sit cross-legged.
"I do, actually! Back in Omaha, I worked as a pastry chef for a bakery. I worked there for around 3 years, so I believe myself to be quite experienced!" Whizzer excitedly responded to Marvin's question. Marvin watched Whizzer's eyes glance around the room. Whenever he stared into his eyes, time seemed to slow. He had just met this man, and he already knew he was head over heels in love with him. Whizzer's voice broke through Marvin's fluffy, romantic thoughts. "Now that you've asked me a few questions, would you mind if I asked you a few? I want to get aquainted with my future co-worker." He smirked. So, Whizzer was confident that he was going job? Marvin might've been slightly turned on by Whizzer's burst of confidence.
"So, Marvin?" Whizzer asked, as he laced his fingers together and set his chin on his newly laced fingers. "First question, does anyone else as cute as you work here?" He smiled a dorky smile and gave Marv a little wink wonk. Marvin felt his face heat up and he started giggling like a school girl. His thoughts raced as he thought of what to say back.
"Well, if you get the job then I guess there will be." He returned the dashing boy's smile. Whizzer flopped back in his chair and gave a slightly... lustful?.... smile.
"Guess that leads into question two." Whizzer walked his fingers across the mahogany table to Marvin's hand and wrapped his fingers around it. "Would you possibly be free on Saturday night?" He stared into the shorter man's shining brown eyes as he waited for a response.
Whizzer got a response, but not one he was expecting. Marvin had been listening intently to every word this gorgeous man said. When he had fully processed the fact that this fucking god had just asked him out, his emotions took over. He roughly grabbed the side of Whizzer's face and brought it closer. He felt the man's soft lips press against his. Whizzer kissed back after a blissful seconds. When they pulled away, Marvin had the dorkiest smile on his face.
Whizzer gave back a goofy smile and laughed his smooth laugh that Marvin wanted to hear for hours more.
"I guess that means yes."
