One Week To the Wedding
Dear Miss and Mister Johnson
Your have been invited to witness the wedding of:
John and Amanda Whiteman
At St. Rita Catholic Church on Friday February 3rd at 6:30pm
We Hope To See You There
Best Regards,
John and Amanda
- "MUM!" I shouted at the top of my voice "Uncle John's wedding invitation's here. It just arrived in the mail. "
- "Thanks honey." said my mum sweetly as I handed her the card.
- "Mum....do I HAVE TO go? I mean this is the 3rd ti-"
- "Yes! You HAVE TO go." interrupted my mum "All the family will be there and you can't just miss a family moment like. The holy spirit would bless that room to that beauti-"
I stopped listening after that. I didn't really care what she would say after that. What's important is that I'm going to that wedding whether The Holy Spirit was there or not.
Its funny how all this happened. I like to think that if one part of this puzzle was missing I would have stayed normal.
If the mail man missed our block we wouldn’t have received the invitation. Forgot the wedding. I wouldn't have met Luke. I would have stayed
If Luke decided not to come to the wedding. I would have gone to the wedding, died of boredom, got back home and stayed normal.
IF! IF! IF! They are all ifs and that is not what life offers...so we either deal with it...or die.
I ran up to my room and swung open the closet door. I had to come up with something formal like a penguin suit (which I most certainly do not own, I'm what you might describe as "hipster") or something. The wedding was in a week and all I could come up with was a black and white polka-dotted shirt, a pair of black pants black and a pair of white Chuck Taylors. Oh and of course a bow tie (also black).
Two Days Before The Wedding
- "Honey, have you picked what your wearing for Uncle John's wedding?" asked my mother nervously. "It's in two days you know."
- "Yeah mum. Don't sweat it. I picked them out like last week." I managed to say while re-watching season 4 of PLL for the 4th time. I'm not sure why I can't get enough of that show. It’s something about those girls and their lifestyle that just gets to me.
- "Last week?' said my dad as he barged into my room startling me "You seem pretty excited."
- "Believe me dad when I say I'm not." I replied sarcastically " And how many times do I have to ask for privacy around here?! Knock!!" I said it with a sarcastic smile on my face...it made my dad laugh.
- "I'm sorry Nash. I'll let you be." Then he left.
I exhaled with a smirk on my face. I thought I won. However, exactly 3 seconds after I opened my laptop to unpause PLL. I heard a knock. It has my Dad. Ha. Ha. -_-
The Night Of The Wedding
- "Come on Nash! We are going to be late!” yelled my dad
- "I'm coming!" I yelled back "I need a minute."
